Product Overview
In short
The NTC-950-2 / NTB-800 combo pairs a dual-assist-arm tire changer with a computer wheel balancer, covering mounting, demounting, and balancing in one purchase. Both machines run on 110V, with the changer also needing shop air up to a 120 PSI maximum input.

What the combo is rated to handle

The NTC-950-2 tire changer and NTB-800 wheel balancer arrive as a matched pair, so a single purchase covers mounting, demounting, and balancing. Triumph publishes a fitment chart for its tire equipment, and both machines cover passenger cars and 1/2-, 3/4-, and 1-ton trucks, Load Range C, D, and E tires, 14- to 24-inch and 16.5-inch wheels, and run-flats. Neither machine is rated for box trucks, over-the-road trucks, or 19.5- and 21.5-inch wheels. Motorcycle wheels require an additional adapter. On the balancer, heavier truck and run-flat tires are held to a 75 lb total-weight limit, below the 150 lb maximum wheel weight the machine carries otherwise. Check those limits against the vehicles you actually work on before ordering.

How the NTC-950-2 handles difficult tires

Dual pneumatic assist arms support and press the tire while you work, which is what makes wide-profile, low-profile, and run-flat sidewalls manageable through mounting and demounting. A side-mounted bead breaker applies 5,500 lbs of force, and the bead blast system fires a burst of air into the sidewall to break stubborn beads and seat them on mounting. Inside clamping runs 16" to 28", outside clamping 14" to 26", with a 15" maximum wheel width and a 43" maximum tire diameter. A 1.5 HP motor turns the table on a standard 110V circuit, with a 120 PSI maximum air input. The changer ships with steel and plastic mount/demount heads, plastic wheel clamp covers, a soap tank and application brush, and a tire tool bar.

Balancing with the NTB-800

The NTB-800 reads to +/- 1 gram and completes a balance cycle in 6 to 9 seconds. Its automatic data entry is the feature that changes daily workflow: instead of keying in all three balancing parameters, you enter one and the machine sets the other two on its own, cutting keystrokes and input error on every wheel. A foot-pedal wheel brake locks the assembly so weights land where the display calls for them. The balancer takes 10" to 28" wheels with rim widths of 1.5" to 20", a 44" maximum tire diameter, and up to 150 lbs of wheel weight on a 36 mm shaft. Display switches between standard and metric. A 1/4 HP motor runs it on 110V. Included are a plastic safety hood, quick-release wing nut, cone adapters, wheel weight hammer, and rim caliper.

Space, power, and delivery

Assembled, the tire changer occupies 56" x 93" x 80" and the balancer 28" x 48" x 62", so plan the bay around both footprints plus room to swing tires. Neither machine needs 220V: both run on 110V, and the only other service requirement is shop air for the changer's bead blast and pneumatic assist functions, up to 120 PSI. The combo ships on an LTL common-carrier freight truck with lift-gate service, so the driver lowers the equipment to the ground at the rear of the truck. The driver does not move it inside or assemble it; you arrange the delivery appointment with the carrier directly, or have the shipment held at the nearest terminal for pickup. Crated, the changer is 900 lbs and the balancer 300 lbs.

FAQ about this model

Can it change low-profile and run-flat tires?
Yes. The NTC-950-2's dual pneumatic assist arms support the sidewall through the mount and demount, which is what makes low-profile and run-flat tires manageable. Triumph's fitment chart rates the changer for run-flat wheels.

What power supply does the combo need?
Both machines run on 110V. The tire changer also needs shop air, up to a 120 PSI maximum input, to drive the bead blast and pneumatic assist functions.

What wheel sizes does the NTC-950-2 clamp?
Inside clamping runs 16" to 28" and outside clamping 14" to 26". Maximum wheel width is 15" and maximum tire diameter is 43".

How much floor space do the two machines need?
Assembled, the tire changer measures 56" x 93" x 80" and the wheel balancer 28" x 48" x 62". Plan the bay for both footprints plus working room around them.

How does automatic data entry work on the balancer?
Instead of keying in all three balancing parameters, you enter one and the NTB-800 sets the other two on its own, which cuts time and input error on every wheel.

What comes with the combo?
The changer includes a steel mount/demount head, a plastic mount/demount head, plastic wheel clamp covers, a soap tank and application brush, and a tire tool bar. The balancer includes a plastic safety hood, quick-release wing nut, cone adapters, wheel weight hammer, and rim caliper.

Will it handle truck wheels?
Both machines cover 1/2-, 3/4-, and 1-ton trucks with Load Range C, D, and E tires, and 14" to 24" plus 16.5" wheels. Neither is rated for box trucks, over-the-road trucks, or 19.5" and 21.5" wheels, and on the balancer heavier truck and run-flat tires are held to a 75 lb total-weight limit.

How is the combo delivered?
It ships on an LTL common-carrier freight truck with lift-gate service, so the driver lowers the equipment to the ground at the rear of the truck. The driver does not move it inside or assemble it; you arrange the appointment with the carrier or hold the shipment at the nearest terminal for pickup.

What does the warranty cover?
Triumph tire equipment carries a 1-year parts warranty, parts only, with no labor. A phone call walks you through troubleshooting and the needed part ships free by ground service, but installing it is the owner's responsibility. Wear and consumable items — plastic protective pads and tooling, the inflation hose, lube brush and bucket, the wing nut, hood cover, top tray cover, and weight hammer — are not covered.
