Order picker forklifts let an operator ride up with the load and pick individual cases or items straight from rack, instead of pulling a full pallet down to floor level. This collection lists 13 models from GNT, EKKO, Vestil, EOSLift and Ballymore, spanning $515 to $42,224 — from manual stockpicker trucks for low-bay shelving, to semi-electric platforms, to lithium electric order pickers with lifting heights up to 196 in. Filter by rated capacity, lift height and power source, then check your aisle width and ceiling clearance against the listed dimensions before you buy.

An order picker forklift raises the operator and the platform together, so cases, cartons or individual SKUs can be pulled directly from rack at height. That is the core difference from a counterbalance or reach truck, which keeps the operator at floor level and moves whole pallets. If your outbound orders ship as full pallets, a reach truck is the cheaper and faster tool. If your orders are mixed cases pulled from several rack levels, an order picker lift truck removes the let-down-and-restack cycle entirely, and that is where the labor savings usually come from. Plenty of operations run both: pallet-in with a reach truck, piece-out with an order picker.
Three power configurations appear here, and they suit very different duty cycles.
Start from the top pick face, not the building height. Measure to the highest shelf you actually pick from, then confirm the model clears it with the platform floor at a workable level. The two Eoslift LH10 listings show why mast type matters: the duplex reaches 108.66 in and the triplex reaches 177.16 in at the same 2,200 lb rating. You are paying for height, not capacity.
Next, treat rated capacity as a picking rating, not a pallet rating — it has to cover the load, and you should confirm with the manufacturer how operator weight is accounted for on any elevating-operator truck. Finally, measure the aisle. Compare overall length and track width against your rack face and cross-aisle turns; the Ballymore LIAM (model Rebel-11) is specified with a zero-turning radius for tight stockrooms. OSHA 1910.176(a) requires sufficient safe clearances in aisles and passageways where mechanical handling equipment is used.
| Model | Rated capacity | Lifting height |
|---|---|---|
| EKKO EOPS20-177 | 440 lbs | 177 in |
| EKKO EOP70 | 2,200 lb | 196 in |
| Eoslift LH10, duplex mast | 2,200 lb | 108.66 in |
| Eoslift LH10, triplex mast | 2,200 lb | 177.16 in |

Lithium and lead-acid behave differently in a picking application. Lithium packs, such as those in the GNT GDF22-Li, GOP22-Li and GOP10T-Li series, accept opportunity charging during breaks and need no watering or equalizing, which suits multi-shift picking without a spare-battery swap. Lead-acid costs less up front but requires a designated charging area; OSHA 1910.178(g) sets requirements for battery changing and charging installations, including facilities for flushing spilled electrolyte, fire protection and adequate ventilation.
Floors matter more than most buyers expect. Polyurethane wheels, like those on the EKKO EOPS20-177, are made for smooth sealed concrete; joints, patches and slope will punish both the operator and the drive components. Check dock plates, ramps and threshold transitions on the actual route before selecting a wheel type.
Powered order pickers are powered industrial trucks. OSHA 1910.178(l) requires operator training, a workplace evaluation, refresher training after an incident or unsafe operation, and re-evaluation of each operator at least once every three years. OSHA 1910.178(q)(7) requires that trucks be examined at least daily before being placed in service, and more often where trucks run around the clock. OSHA 1910.178(a)(4) prohibits modifications affecting capacity or safe operation without the manufacturer's prior written approval — that includes adding platforms or attachments.
Because the operator elevates with the load, fall protection is the defining safety issue. OSHA 1910.178(m)(12) sets requirements for trucks used to elevate personnel, including a means for personnel on the platform to shut off power to the truck. ANSI/ITSDF B56.1 covers low and high lift powered industrial trucks and addresses operator restraint on elevating-operator-position trucks. Manual stockpicker trucks are a different case: they are ladder-equipped carts, so OSHA's ladder requirements in 1910.23 apply rather than the powered industrial truck rule.
Listings in this collection run from $515 to $42,224, and the spread is mostly explained by three things: whether travel is powered, how high the mast goes, and how many mast stages it takes to get there. Manual stockpicker trucks sit at the bottom, semi-electric units in the middle, and high-lift electric order pickers at the top.
The common buying mistakes are consistent. Buyers specify maximum lift height they will rarely use, then find the machine is heavier and harder to turn in the aisle they actually pick in. They budget the truck but not the charger, spare battery or operator training. They skip a floor survey and discover the ride quality is unacceptable at height. And they compare a semi-electric unit's price against a full electric one without accounting for how far the operator has to push it between picks — on long aisles, that difference shows up in pick rate within a week.
