Forestry and wood processing accessories are the parts that make a log splitter faster to run, easier to move and safer to store. This collection carries 15 Boss Industrial items from $55 to $1,936: 4-way cross wedges (CW-G, CW-S, CW-W, CW-D2, CW-D3), log splitter stands (FT-3, FT-5, FT-7), the LT-4 log tray, wheeled trailer jacks (TJ-11, TJ-16, TJ-20), the EG-6 engine guard, the CV-1 splitter cover, and the 32-ton WD32T gas log splitter. Fitment is listed per part, so match every accessory to your splitter's model number before you order.

Everything here is Boss Industrial, and almost all of it is built around one machine: the log splitter. The accessories fall into four practical groups. Cross wedges change what comes off the beam by splitting a round into four pieces in a single pass. Stands and trays change how you work, raising the machine and catching the split halves so you are not stooping to the ground for every piece. Wheeled trailer jacks change how the splitter moves and parks. Guards and covers — the EG-6 engine guard and the CV-1 cover — protect the machine from impact and weather. The one complete machine in the group is the WD32T, a 32-ton gas splitter with a 250cc Briggs & Stratton XR1150 engine, a 14-second cycle time, horizontal and vertical operation, a one-handed auto-return control lever, a full-beam steel frame with log trays, and a 2-inch ball hitch on DOT-approved heavy-duty tires.
A 4-way cross wedge is the cheapest way to raise output per cycle, but it is also the accessory people get wrong most often. Two rules matter. First, force headroom: splitting four ways at once demands more from the hydraulics than a single wedge, which is why each wedge publishes a compatibility limit. The CW-G is rated for splitters producing 34 tons or less. Second, fitment by model number: the CW-G lists the 3PT22T25, 3PT28T25, GB25T26, GB30T26 and GB35T26. The CW-S, CW-W, CW-D2 and CW-D3 each list their own compatible machines, so a matching tonnage figure alone does not mean the wedge will drop on. The CW-G uses a single-screw, tool-free drop-on/lift-off mount in hardened steel and carries a 2-year limited warranty.
On the wood side, cross wedges shine on clean, straight-grained rounds of consistent diameter — the kind of stock that produces stove-ready quarters without re-handling. Knotty, twisted or crotch wood tends to stall a four-way pass, and oversized rounds are usually better opened with a single wedge first, then quartered. Many operators keep the wedge on for a production run and pull it for the problem pile, which is exactly why the tool-free mount is worth paying for.
Handling, not splitting, is what makes a firewood day long. A log splitter stand raises the beam so the work happens near waist level instead of at your ankles. The FT-3 bolts to the provided mount points on the EC5T20 5-ton electric splitter and lifts it to a waist-high position. The FT-5 fits the ES7T20 and ES5T20 electric splitters, bolts on using existing mounting points, and is designed so the factory wheels stay on the ground — you keep the ability to roll the machine into a corner when you are done. Both are heavy-duty industrial-grade steel, and the FT-3 lists a 2-year limited warranty. The LT-4 log tray fits the ES7T20, installs and removes without tools, and keeps split halves on the beam instead of on the floor. Paired with a stand, a tray removes most of the bending from a cycle.
A wheeled trailer jack supports the tongue when the splitter is unhitched and lets one person reposition the machine by hand instead of backing a truck to it. The TJ-11 uses a two-bolt, tool-free attachment and lists compatibility with the GB25T26, GB30T26, GB35T26, WD25T, WD30T and WD35T; the TJ-16 and TJ-20 publish their own fitment lists. Check yours before ordering. If you tow between properties, remember that towing rules — lighting, safety chains, registration and permissible speed for equipment trailers — are set by your state, not by the machine, so confirm requirements with your state DMV before the first road trip.

Log splitters concentrate enormous force in a small space, and the accessories change the hazard picture. Keep both hands on the control and clear of the wedge and beam, split one round at a time, and never let a second person feed while you operate — the auto-return lever on machines like the WD32T is designed for single-operator control. Eye and hearing protection, gloves and sturdy boots are baseline; for commercial logging work, OSHA 1910.266 requires employers to provide head, eye, face, hand and leg protection along with training. Between sessions, check hydraulic hoses and fittings for weeping, inspect the wedge edge for mushrooming, and follow the engine manual for oil and filter intervals. The EG-6 engine guard and CV-1 cover exist because outdoor storage is what kills these machines first. On budgeting, note that a cord is legally defined by NIST Handbook 130 as 128 cubic feet of stacked wood, which is the unit most states require firewood to be sold in — worth knowing before you size a season's production against the cost of a wedge, a stand and a tray.
