Hand trucks and carts are the equipment that moves material the last hundred feet — off the dock, down the aisle, onto the line — where a forklift is too large, too fast, or not licensed to go. This collection carries 121 Vestil models, from simple roll dollies and platform trucks to scissor-lift carts, long deck carts, and battery-powered traction-drive units, priced from $100 to $5,750. Sort by deck size, capacity, and power source: manual for occasional moves, powered when the same route runs all shift. Every model here is Vestil, made in the USA.

The choice among hand trucks and carts comes down to three questions: what shape is the load, how far does it travel, and how often. A two-wheel hand truck or roll dolly suits a single upright load moved occasionally — drums, appliances, stacked boxes — and costs the least to own because there is nothing to maintain but the wheels. A four-wheel platform truck suits mixed loads that need a flat surface and stability at rest. A scissor cart earns its price when the same operator loads and unloads repeatedly and you want the work surface to come to them instead of the other way around. A powered cart earns its price on distance and repetition. If your operators are pushing loaded carts several hundred feet a dozen times a shift, the labor arithmetic usually favors a traction-drive unit long before the ergonomics argument does.
Manual carts dominate this collection by count and by value — plastic, aluminum, and steel platform trucks, nesting carts, panel carts, and stackable material carts. They have no duty-cycle limit, no charging routine, and no battery to replace.
Powered models change the operating model. Traction-drive carts add a motorized drive wheel so the operator steers rather than pushes; the four Vestil traction-drive carts here are rated 750 lb and run $3,891.74 to $4,905.39. Electric material handling carts (EMHC) come in seven deck sizes from 28" x 48" to 36" x 72", $4,354.66 to $5,741.12. For yards, gravel, and grades, the off-road traction-drive carts (OROAD-1000 and OROAD-1000-T) are rated 1,000 lb, with the -T adding a powered tilt. The Powered Dump Cart (PDC-1000-33) is also a 1,000 lb unit at $5,749.78. All are DC battery machines, which means you need a charging location, a charging window in the schedule, and someone accountable for it — the most common reason a powered cart ends up parked.
Match the deck to the load footprint before you look at the capacity rating. A load that overhangs the deck is unstable no matter how much weight the cart is rated for. The GMA standard grocery pallet is 48" x 40", which is why the Vestil scissor cart line includes a 48" x 40" platform — if you handle pallets or pallet-sized unit loads, start there. For long, awkward stock such as pipe, extrusion, or lumber, the long deck carts (LDLT) run from 72" x 20" up to 120" x 30" with capacities of 2,000 to 4,000 lb, and are available with air/oil, AC, or DC power options.
Published capacities across the families above range from 750 lb on the traction-drive carts to 4,000 lb on the long deck carts, with the DC-powered and manual scissor carts (28 models) rated 1,000 to 1,500 lb. Rate for the heaviest load you will ever put on the cart, not the average one, and remember that capacity ratings assume the load is centered and evenly distributed.
Wheel selection fails more carts than frame selection does. Hard polyurethane and phenolic wheels roll easily on smooth concrete but transmit shock to the load and the operator over expansion joints, dock plates, and floor drains. Pneumatic tires — offered on the Vestil pneumatic tire steel platform trucks (PNU) and the off-road hand truck (ORHT) — absorb rough surfaces and gravel at the cost of higher rolling resistance and periodic inflation checks. Push force rises sharply with soft floors, debris, and undersized wheels, so a cart that moves easily in the aisle may be immovable on the ramp.
Also decide swivel configuration before ordering: all-swivel carts maneuver in tight aisles but wander over distance, while two-fixed/two-swivel tracks straight and turns predictably. For wash-down environments, stainless steel platform trucks (SSPT) avoid the corrosion problems that end painted-steel carts early.
A meaningful share of this collection solves one problem well rather than many problems adequately. Multi-purpose drum and hand trucks (DCHT) handle drums upright and tilted. Vertical and horizontal panel carts carry sheet goods on edge, where a flat deck would let them flex. Strapping and banding carts put the dispenser, tools, and consumables at the point of use. IBC tilt stands with fork pockets and the IBC tilting cart handle totes that cannot be safely tipped by hand. Tilt trucks with tow-bar move scrap and waste in trains. Welded security carts (SCW) and A-frame storage carts address controlled or high-value stock. If a specialty cart matches your task, it will usually beat a general-purpose platform truck on both cycle time and damage rate.
OSHA 1910.178 covers powered industrial trucks, and its definition includes motorized hand trucks and platform trucks — so the powered carts in this collection fall under its operator training and evaluation requirements, while purely manual carts do not. OSHA 1910.176(b) requires that stored material be stacked and secured to prevent sliding or collapse, which applies to how loads are built on a cart, not just how they sit in a rack. Beyond compliance, maintenance is short: keep casters clean and free of banding and shrink wrap, check fasteners on welded and bolted decks, inspect handles and weld points for cracks, and follow the manufacturer's charging instructions on DC units. The Vestil families listed above carry a 1-year limited warranty.
