These semi electric pallet trucks pair a lithium battery with walkie, pedestrian operation, so one operator can stage loaded pallets without the effort a manual jack demands. The two EKKO models here cover 3,300 lb and 4,000 lb capacities and are priced from $2,259 to $2,421, both running polyurethane wheels on a 23.6-inch load center.

Semi electric describes a truck where power handles part of the job and the operator handles the rest — commonly a powered lift with manual maneuvering, or powered travel with a manual pump, depending on the model, so check the individual spec sheet for the unit you are considering. Both EKKO trucks here are listed as electric drive with walkie operation, meaning the operator walks behind at the tiller rather than riding. That layout keeps the machine narrow, light and much cheaper than a ride-on electric pallet mover, which suits stockrooms, retail backrooms, light manufacturing cells and delivery work — sites that move pallets steadily through a shift rather than continuously.
Capacity is the only real decision here. Our spec data lists identical geometry for both trucks, so they behave the same in an aisle; the difference is what they are rated to carry.
| Model | Load capacity | Load center | Wheel base | Tire material |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| EKKO EP15SLi | 3,300 lb | 23.6 in | 51.69 in | Polyurethane |
| EKKO EP18SLi | 4,000 lb | 23.6 in | 51.69 in | Polyurethane |
Size to the heaviest pallet you actually handle, not the average one. The GMA standard pallet used throughout US grocery and retail measures 48 by 40 inches; both trucks are rated at a 23.6-inch load center, which is the point on the forks where the rated capacity applies.
Polyurethane wheels are built for smooth, sealed indoor floors and dock plates; they do not tolerate cracked asphalt, gravel or debris, so map the route before you buy. OSHA 1910.178 classifies powered pallet trucks as powered industrial trucks, which means the employer must train, evaluate and certify each operator, re-evaluate performance at least once every three years, and examine each truck before it is placed in service each shift. ANSI/ITSDF B56.1 covers the design and safe-operation practice for low-lift powered trucks and is the standard your safety manual will most likely reference. Day to day, upkeep is light: keep wheels clear of shrink wrap and strapping, watch for flat spots, park with forks lowered, and charge the lithium pack on the charger specified for the truck rather than a generic substitute.
