Mini excavator brush cutter attachments clear heavy brush, saplings and overgrown right-of-way from ground your machine can reach but a mower deck cannot — ditch banks, fence lines, pond edges and slopes. This collection carries one unit: the Loflin Fabrication Mini Excavator Brushcutter, a direct-drive, bi-directional cutter offered in 48" to 72" working widths.
Loflin Fabrication Mini Excavator Brushcutter: Effortless Vegetation Control Take on overgrown brush, land-clearing projects, and routine landscape...
View full detailsA brush cutter attachment for a mini excavator earns its keep on ground a mower deck cannot hold — banks, ditches, fence lines and wooded lot edges the operator works from stable footing using the boom's reach. The trade-off is that the attachment runs off the carrier's auxiliary hydraulics, so it has to be specified against the machine, not just the job.
Three things decide the match. First, auxiliary hydraulic flow and pressure: the cutter's motor must be sized to what your excavator actually delivers, which is why the Loflin Fabrication Mini Excavator Brushcutter is offered with multiple geroller motor displacement options rather than one fixed motor. Second, case drain — high-torque hydraulic motors typically need a dedicated return line, and plumbing one after the fact costs more than ordering the carrier with it. Third, weight and reach: an attachment a machine handles close in may still compromise stability at full extension, so check your carrier's load chart and confirm the pin or coupler configuration before ordering.
We carry one brush cutter here, priced at $4,315. It uses a proprietary direct-drive system — the motor turns the spindle with no belts to tension or replace — inside a 3/8" heavy-duty steel housing. The blade and axle are one-piece heat-treated forged steel, and the blade is reversible, so a dulled edge gets flipped rather than scrapped. Cutting is bi-directional, which matters on slopes and along fence lines where the operator wants debris thrown away from a road or structure. Working widths run from 48" to 72" depending on the option selected: narrower suits tighter carriers and confined right-of-way work, wider covers open acreage in fewer passes.
Continuous cutting loads a hydraulic system harder than digging does, so watch oil temperature on long runs and keep the cooler clean. Scout the area for stumps, rock and buried wire before the first pass — impact damage is the most common reason these attachments come out of service. OSHA's PPE standard, 29 CFR 1910.132, requires employers to assess workplace hazards and provide protection; flying debris from rotary cutting is exactly that kind of hazard, so keep bystanders clear and cab glass intact.
