Telehandler boom attachments turn a variable-reach forklift into a pick-and-place tool for trusses, joists and suspended loads. This collection carries two Star Industries truss booms, $2,666 to $3,761: a low-profile Model 1302 rated 10,000 lbs at a 2 ft effective length, and a wide-back boom (Models 1325 and 1335) rated 2,000 lbs, with 12 ft of effective length and placement up to 15 ft on the 1325.

View full detailsBoth truss booms here bolt the load out in front of the carriage, but they solve opposite problems. The Star Industries Truss Boom, Telehandler Low Profile (Model 1302) is rated 10,000 lbs over a 2 ft effective length — short leverage, heavy picks, and a 26.5 in effective height for work where clearance above the load is tight. The Telehandler Wide Back Truss Boom (Models 1325 and 1335) trades capacity for reach: 2,000 lbs, 12 ft of effective length on the 1325, and lift or placement up to 15 ft. Both are fully welded heavy-duty square tube steel with no hydraulic function.
| Spec | Low Profile 1302 | Wide Back 1325 |
|---|---|---|
| Capacity | 10,000 lbs (4,536 kg) | 2,000 lbs |
| Effective length | 2 ft (600mm) | 12 ft |
| Effective height | 26.5 in | 36 in |
| Back width | 31 in | 45 in |
| Mount | Quick-Tach (QT) | Wide quick-tach coupler |
Fit is decided at the back of the boom. The 1302 uses a standard Quick-Tach interface with a 31 in back width; the wide back models use a wide quick-tach coupler sized for JCB Q-Fit, Gehl Dynacarrier and similar telehandler carriages, with a 45 in back width on the 1325. Measure your carriage width and coupler style before ordering — a wide-back boom will not seat on a narrow carriage.
The capacity stamped on a boom is the boom's own limit, not what your machine can pick. Reach shifts the load center forward, so the telehandler's derated capacity at that boom length and boom angle governs the job. Work from the machine manufacturer's load chart for the attachment fitted, not from the boom rating alone.
OSHA 1910.178 covers powered industrial trucks, including variable-reach machines, and 1910.178(a)(4) states that modifications and additions affecting capacity and safe operation shall not be made without the manufacturer's prior written approval, with capacity and operation plates updated to match. ANSI/ITSDF B56.6 is the safety standard for rough terrain forklift trucks. If you rig slings or chains from the boom, ASME B30.9 addresses sling selection, inspection and use. Suspended loads swing, so plan for taglines and for wind on truss and panel picks.
