What AMGO Builds, and What Vovlift Stocks

AMGO Hydraulics makes vehicle lifts. The range breaks into four groups — four-post lifts, two-post lifts, scissor lifts and single-post parking lifts — plus the rolling jacks, jack trays and adaptors that let one lift do more than one job. Our AMGO catalog runs to 103 active items, and the accessory count alone is 35 SKUs, which tells you something about how these lifts are bought: most are configured for a specific bay and a specific workflow rather than pulled off a shelf. Everything on this page comes from the model list and specification data in our own catalog.

Four-Post Lifts: The PRO Series and the Parking Models

The PRO series is the core of AMGO's four-post line, and the number is the capacity: PRO-12 at 12,000 lbs, PRO-14 at 14,000 lbs, PRO-18 at 18,000 lbs, PRO-30 at 30,000 lbs and PRO-40 at 40,000 lbs. The suffixes carry the rest of the meaning. An A marks an alignment configuration — the PRO-14A listing calls out slip plates, and the PRO-18A, PRO-14AE and PRO-12ASX belong to the same group. An E marks extra length for long-wheelbase vehicles. The SX models (PRO-12SX, PRO-12ASX) are a further variant, so check the individual product page for how that one is built; the PRO-12SX is also sold as a combo with the J6A rolling jack.

What the E suffix actually buys is easiest to see side by side, using our specification data:

Capacity and lift speed stay the same within a pair; the E adds runway. That matters more for bay planning than for the machine itself — the PRO-40E needs nearly five feet more floor than the PRO-40.

Separate from the PRO service lifts, AMGO's parking and storage four-posts are the 408 and 409 models: the 408-HP plus the 408-HP-DX and 408-P-DX combos at 8,000 lbs, the 409-HP at 9,000 lbs, and the 409-DP and 409-DPX double parking lifts rated 9,000 lbs total or 6,000 lbs per vehicle. These stack two vehicles in one footprint rather than serving as work lifts, and the single-post SPL-6, SPL-7 and SML-7 do the same job where a four-post won't fit.

Two-Post and Scissor Lifts

The two-post range spans 10,000 to 18,000 lbs: the OH-10, OH-12, OH-15 and OH-18, the OHX-10 and OHX-10H, the BP-10 and BP-12, and the OH-12S, whose listing specifies short columns — the model to look at when ceiling height is the binding constraint. Column configuration, arm style and anchoring requirements differ across these, so read them off the product page rather than inferring from capacity.

Scissor lifts solve a different problem: nothing standing in the bay. The XL-7 is a 7,000 lb low-profile unit and the XL-9F is a 9,000 lb flush-mount that sets into the floor. The AX-12, AX-12A, AX-16A and DX-12A are the larger alignment-capable scissors. From our specification data, the AX-12A lifts 12,000 lbs in 75 seconds to a maximum 72 13/16", sits at 12" minimum height, carries a 197 9/16" runway, and covers four-wheel alignment from 81 15/16" to 167 15/16". The AX-16A lifts 16,000 lbs in 110 seconds, runs a 213 11/16" runway, and covers 98" to 184 1/16" for four-wheel alignment. If you are aligning long-wheelbase trucks, that alignment span is the number to compare, not the capacity.

Picking the Right AMGO Lift

Three questions settle most of it:

• What are you lifting, and how heavy does it get? Passenger cars and light trucks sit comfortably in the 8,000 to 12,000 lb models. Class 4 to 6 trucks, box vans and bus work push you into the PRO-18, PRO-30 and PRO-40 range.
• What does the building allow? Ceiling height rules out tall columns — that is what the OH-12S and the low-profile XL-7 exist for. Floor condition and anchoring govern two-post and flush-mount installs; those requirements are listed per model, and a flush-mount XL-9F needs the recess cut before delivery.
• Service, alignment or storage? Alignment work needs an A-suffix PRO or an AX/DX scissor. Storage means the 408, 409 or SPL/SML models. General undercar service is where the two-post range and the standard PRO four-posts sit, with a rolling jack added when you need wheels free on a drive-on lift.
