A mini skid steer grapple turns a compact loader into a machine that can pick up and carry irregular material instead of just pushing it. Root grapples skip the bucket entirely. Independent tines let the attachment conform to uneven piles and shake dirt loose as you lift. The Mini Skid Steer Root Grapple uses 3/8" steel tines, dual 2" x 10" hydraulic cylinders and curved, independent heavy-duty tines in 36", 42" and 48" working widths. The Mini Vertical Root Grapple runs the same width options with a 33" maximum opening and dual 2" x 8" vertically-oriented cylinders, a layout that keeps clamping force in line with the load for tall, stacked brush.

Mount and Hydraulic Compatibility

Every grapple here mounts on a universal mini skid steer quick attach plate, the pattern shared by most compact utility loaders. That is not the interface used on full-size machines: ISO 24410 defines the attachment interface for full-size skid-steer loaders, and there is no equivalent published standard for the smaller mini plate, so brands converge on a common pattern by convention rather than by specification. Check your machine's plate before ordering, and be aware that a few manufacturers use a proprietary mount that needs an adapter.

Hydraulics matter as much as the plate. Every attachment in this collection is hydraulically actuated, so your loader needs a working auxiliary circuit and couplers that match the attachment hoses. Build Details That Decide How Long It Lasts

Steel thickness, cutting edge and cylinder size are the honest indicators on a heavy duty grapple for a mini skid steer. Sizing a Mini Skid Steer Grapple to Your Machine

Width should match your loader, not your ambition. A grapple wider than the machine's track or wheel stance puts extra leverage on the coupler and pushes the load's center of gravity forward, which costs you stability and lift capacity at height. The root grapples here are offered in 36", 42" and 48" working widths, enough range to match most compact loaders. Weigh the attachment against your loader's rated operating capacity as well. Every pound of attachment is a pound you cannot lift, and heavy attachments hurt most at full reach and full height. If you mostly handle light brush, a narrower root grapple will outwork a wide rock bucket. If you are clearing rock and stumps, the extra steel earns its keep.

Safety and Operator Practice

Grapples change how a loader behaves. The attachment is heavy, the load is often unbalanced, and material can shift while clamped. Keep loads low while traveling, approach piles square, and never lift a load over anyone.
