Mini skid steer attachments let one compact loader dig, grade, clear brush and move material without bringing in a second machine. This category holds 18 attachments from Loflin Fabrication and Star Industries, priced from $278 to $4,315: buckets, grapples, an auger, a brushcutter, dozer blade, land plane, fork frames, tree boom and a Reese trailer hitch adapter. Most list a universal mini quick attach mount, so the practical questions are mount match, auxiliary hydraulic flow and how much the tool weighs against your loader's rated operating capacity. Each product page lists working widths, steel thickness and hydraulic requirements.

This collection carries 18 active mini skid steer attachments — 17 from Loflin Fabrication and one from Star Industries — spanning $278 to $4,315. They fall into a few working groups. Earthmoving and loading tools include the Mini Skid Steer Low Profile Bucket, Mini Rock Bucket, Mini Snow & Litter Bucket, Mini Front Dump Bucket, Mini 4-N-1 Bucket and the Star Industries Heavy Duty Mini Skid Steer Bucket. Grapples include the Mini Skid Steer Root Grapple, Mini Vertical Root Grapple, Mini Rock Bucket Grapple and Mini Skid Steer Grapple Bucket. Grading is handled by the Mini Skid Steer Dozer Blade and Mini Land Plane. The Mini Auger drills, the Mini Skid Steer Brushcutter handles vegetation, and the Mini Skid Steer Fork Frames, Mini Tree Boom and Mini Skid Steer Reese Trailer Hitch Adapter cover handling and towing tasks.
Start with the work, not the tool list. Loading loose material, backdragging and cleanup favor an open bucket; the Low Profile Bucket cuts and loads, while the Front Dump Bucket adds 19 inches of dump height and 21.5 inches of forward reach so you can discharge into a trailer or hopper without repositioning. The 4-N-1 Bucket combines loading, dozing, clamping and spreading in one tool, which matters on a mini loader where swapping attachments mid-task costs real time.
Debris, brush piles and rock call for a grapple. The Mini Skid Steer Root Grapple comes in 36", 42" and 48" working widths with 3/8" steel tines and dual 2" x 10" hydraulic cylinders, and its curved independent tines let uneven material seat instead of bridging. The Mini Skid Steer Grapple Bucket has a 36.5-inch grapple opening and is listed as compatible with compact tractors, compact track loaders and mini skid steers. The Mini Rock Bucket Grapple lists a 66" to 96" working width range with a 3/4" thick by 6" wide welded cutting edge and an optional bolt-on reversible edge.
For post holes and tree planting, the Mini Auger runs a 2" hex output shaft that accepts bits from 4" to 48" in diameter through an Auburn planetary drive. The Brushcutter is offered in 36", 42" and 50" working widths for mini machines with a 3/16" reinforced steel deck, and in 48", 60" and 72" widths with a 3/8" thick steel housing on standard models, using forged, heat-treated bi-directional blades. Fork frames turn the loader into a short-range material handler — worth noting that the standard GMA grocery pallet measures 48 by 40 inches, so confirm your fork length and frame width suit the pallets you actually handle.
Two things decide whether an attachment works on your machine: the mount plate and the hydraulics. Several Loflin tools in this collection list a universal mini skid-steer quick attach, including the Rock Bucket Grapple and the Root Grapple, and the Grapple Bucket uses a reinforced quick attach plate. The Mini Auger lists compatibility with Toro Dingo and Bobcat MT50, 52, 55, S70 and RC30 mounts, and the Brushcutter lists a standard mini universal coupler. Check the mount listed on the individual product page against your loader's plate before ordering rather than assuming every mini machine shares one interface.
For hydraulic tools, compare the attachment's stated flow requirement with your machine's published auxiliary flow. The Mini Auger, for example, lists a 6-40 GPM flow requirement. Too little flow means slow, stalling performance; too much can overheat or overspeed a motor. Attachments that carry their own hoses and fittings — Loflin lists Parker hoses, fittings and couplers on the Auger, and pre-assembled Parker hose assemblies on the Front Dump Bucket — save you from sourcing mismatched couplers on delivery day.
On compact equipment, plate thickness and pivot design separate a tool that lasts from one that cracks. Compare the published steel thickness rather than the marketing description: the Mini Auger lists 3/8" thick steel construction, the Rock Bucket Grapple lists 3/16" thick steel with a 3/4" x 6" welded cutting edge, and the Root Grapple uses 3/8" tines. Greasable hinge points and oversized greasable pins, listed on the Root Grapple and Front Dump Bucket respectively, are what let you keep slop out of the linkage after a few hundred hours. Protected hose routing matters just as much on grapples, where unguarded lines get torn out by brush. Powder-coated finishes hold up better than paint on tools that see constant abrasion, and Loflin lists US manufacture on the Grapple Bucket and Front Dump Bucket.
Capacity is a property of your machine, not the attachment. SAE J818 defines rated operating capacity for skid steer loaders as 50 percent of tipping load; compact tool carriers and mini loaders are rated by their own manufacturers, so work from the operating capacity published for your specific model. The attachment's own weight counts against that figure, which is why a heavy grapple full of wet material can put a machine on its toes even though the bucket looks half empty. On construction sites, OSHA 1926.602 covers material handling and earthmoving equipment, and manufacturer operating instructions govern how attachments are mounted and used. Load-handling attachments such as a tree boom lose capacity as reach increases — follow the loader maker's chart, and keep loads low and close when traveling.
The three recurring mistakes: buying a working width wider than the machine can carry loaded, ignoring auxiliary flow until the tool arrives, and assuming mini and full-size attachments interchange. Width is a capacity decision, not just a productivity one — a wider bucket or grapple fills with more material at the same fill depth. It is also worth deciding early whether you want a dedicated tool or a combination tool; a 4-N-1 bucket does four jobs adequately, while a dedicated dozer blade or land plane does one job better and finishes faster on grading work.
