Rather than publish specifications we cannot verify against live inventory, we price each request against the specific model you name. If you already own the machine, the data plate is the single most useful thing you can send us: it settles model, serial and rated capacity in one photograph, and it is considerably faster than describing the unit in words over email.

How to Specify the Right Unit

Buyers comparing Major Lift against another manufacturer usually come down to four questions, and they are the same four we will ask you:

• Rated capacity. Work from the heaviest load you will actually put on the equipment, including any attachment, adapter or cradle — not the average load. A capacity rating is a limit, not a target to run at.
• Travel and working height. Collapsed height decides whether the unit fits under or beside the load; extended height decides whether it reaches. Both numbers matter, and either one alone will not tell you whether a unit fits your bay.
• Power and control. Hand-pumped, air-over-hydraulic and electro-hydraulic units behave differently on duty cycle, on shop air supply, and on where an operator can stand while the load is moving.
• Site constraints. Floor condition and slope, aisle width, pit or bay geometry, ceiling height, and whether the unit has to be moved between bays daily or stays in one place.

Send us those four points plus a short description of the work, and we can tell you whether a Major Lift unit is the right answer or whether something else we carry fits your application better. We would rather lose the sale than supply a unit that is marginal on capacity.

Parts, Seals and Service Support

Hydraulic lifting equipment tends to fail in predictable places — seals, hoses, quick couplers, pump assemblies, castors and control valves — and most of those are serviceable rather than grounds for replacing the whole machine. As an authorized dealer, we can source Major Lift parts against a model and serial number. Where a part has been superseded or is no longer produced, we will tell you that directly instead of quoting something that will not arrive.

Two practical notes from handling these orders. First, buy seals as a kit rather than one at a time: the labour of opening a cylinder twice costs more than the extra seals ever will. Second, keep the data plate legible and photograph it now, while it still is. Once a serial number is unreadable, parts identification turns into guesswork and lead times stretch.

In a US workplace, OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) requires equipment used to lift and support loads to be maintained in safe operating condition, which in practice means a documented inspection routine and pulling damaged units out of service. Whatever brand you settle on, budget for that upkeep alongside the purchase price.

Freight, Delivery and Receiving

Hydraulic lifting equipment ships as freight rather than parcel once it passes the weight and dimension thresholds carriers apply. Expect a pallet, a delivery appointment, and — for most commercial addresses — a dock or a forklift on your end. If you have neither, tell us before we quote. Liftgate service, residential and limited-access delivery are all priced into the freight quote up front and are markedly more expensive when added after the fact.

Inspect the shipment before the driver leaves. These units are heavy and pallets take knocks in transit; a bent handle or a weeping fitting is far easier to resolve when it is noted on the delivery receipt than when it surfaces a week later. Photograph the pallet as delivered, then again once it is unwrapped.
