This mini excavator auger page carries one attachment: the Loflin Fabrication Mini Auger at $3,638. It takes 6-40 GPM of auxiliary hydraulic flow, turns 4" to 48" bits on a 2" hex output shaft, and is built from 3/8" thick steel around an Auburn planetary drive. Listed mounts cover Toro Dingo and Bobcat MT50, 52, 55, S70 and RC30 carriers.

View full detailsThis category lists one unit, the Loflin Fabrication Mini Auger at $3,638. It is a hydraulic drilling head built around an Auburn planetary drive, with Parker hoses, fittings and couplers, 3/8" thick steel construction and a powder-coated finish. The output shaft is a 2" hex, the industry-standard interface, so it accepts common bits from 4" to 48" in diameter. Rated flow is 6-40 GPM, a wide window that is the main reason this head suits a range of small carriers rather than one specific machine.

Two things decide fit: hydraulics and the mount. Your machine needs an auxiliary circuit delivering flow inside the 6-40 GPM band above. Starve the head and it stalls in dense soil; feed it past its rating and you are working the motor outside what it is built for. On mounting, the listed compatibility is Toro Dingo and Bobcat MT50, 52, 55, S70 and RC30 interfaces, which are compact tool carrier and mini track loader mounts. If you run a true mini excavator with a pin-on or quick-coupler stick, plan on an adapter that matches your coupler, and confirm that interface before ordering rather than after.
The head is half the job; the bit does the digging. Earth bits with cutting teeth handle ordinary soil, rock bits with carbide teeth work shale and hardpan, and tree or nursery bits lift soil out cleanly for planting. Diameter drives torque demand, so the 48" end of this range asks far more of the machine than the 4" end. Size the bit to the hole you actually need, not to the largest one the shaft will take.
Before drilling, OSHA 1926.651 requires employers to determine the approximate location of utility installations such as sewer, telephone, fuel, electric and water lines before opening an excavation, and to have the owner mark them. Upkeep is short: grease the drive on the manufacturer's interval, check planetary oil level, inspect hoses and couplers for chafe, and replace teeth before they wear into the flighting.
