What mini skid steer trailer movers do

A mini skid steer trailer mover is a quick-attach plate with a trailer receiver on it, so the loader itself becomes the tow vehicle for short, low-speed moves. The use case is yard work: pulling trailers out of a row, backing one into a tight bay, repositioning a dump or equipment trailer on a jobsite without bringing a truck around. A stand-on or walk-behind mini loader turns in its own length and gives the operator a direct sightline to the coupler, which is why shops, rental yards and landscape crews use them for spotting. This is not a road-legal towing setup — no lighting connection, no brake connection, no highway tow rating — and tongue weight has to be treated as a load the machine is carrying, not just something it drags.

Fitment: mini quick attach is not universal

Full-size skid steer loaders share a common interface — ISO 24410 covers the hitch and attachment interface for skid steer loaders — but mini machines do not follow it, and their plates differ by brand and model. The Loflin adapter is listed with pre-fabricated mounts for Toro Dingo, Bobcat MTSO/52/55/S70 and RC30, with custom mounts available; if your machine is not on that list, measure your mount plate before ordering. It is heavy-duty steel with a 1/4-inch quick attach plate thickness and a powder-coated, corrosion-resistant finish, which matters when the attachment lives outdoors on a rack. The receiver is standard 2-inch Reese size, so it takes common ball mounts and drop shanks; pick a drop that keeps the coupler level with the trailer.

Using it safely

Keep the receiver low and the arms down. Tongue weight applied at the end of the loader arms works against the machine's rated operating capacity, and that capacity falls as the arms raise or reach out — check your loader's manual for its rating rather than assuming a loaded trailer is within it. Chock the trailer before uncoupling, keep everyone clear of the pinch point between machine and tongue, and move at walking speed on grades. On construction sites, OSHA 1926.602 addresses material handling equipment, and the machine and attachment manufacturer's instructions govern how the attachment may be used.
