What Geith Makes, and What We Stock

Geith builds attachments and coupling systems for hydraulic excavators. Our active catalog holds 17 Geith items in four groups: couplers, comprising a hydraulic quick coupler and a tilt coupler; excavator thumbs in five distinct families; buckets, including heavy duty digging, grading in full-size and mini-excavator versions, the MX digging bucket for minis, and hydraulic angle tilt buckets in single-ram and dual-ram form; and handling and breaking tools, namely a mechanical grapple, excavator pallet forks and a ripper tooth. Prices across the range run from $2,040 to $21,900 depending on family and machine class.

The Thumb Range: Five Families, One Decision

Most of the buying questions we field on Geith concern thumbs, because the range covers five separate designs. The first split is mechanical versus hydraulic. The Easi-Klamp (EK) and Auto-Klamp (AK) thumbs are mechanical and do not draw on the machine's auxiliary circuit. The Hydraulic Klamp (HK), Main Pin (HT) and Progressive Linkage (PL) thumbs are hydraulic and require an auxiliary hydraulic circuit on the excavator. Geith's PL specification lists high-strength steel construction and pin-on or weld-on mounting depending on model, with applications given as demolition, recycling, construction and land clearing.

The published figures show how sizing works in practice. The PL065 uses a 65 mm (2.6 in) standard dipper pin and covers excavators of 24,251–30,865 lb (11.0–14.0 tons), with a listed weight range of 420–503 kg (926–1,109 lb). The PL070 steps up to a 70 mm dipper pin for machines of 30,865–39,683 lb (14.0–18.0 tons). Both are rated to a maximum operating pressure of 172.5 bar (2,500 psi), which is the number to check against your auxiliary circuit before ordering.

Buckets, Tilt Work and Couplers

The bucket side of the range splits by machine size and by job. Heavy duty digging buckets and the MX digging bucket for mini excavators handle trench and bulk excavation; grading buckets are stocked in full-size and mini-excavator versions for finishing, slope work and cleanup. The hydraulic angle tilt buckets add powered tilt so an operator can grade to a fall line without repositioning the machine.

Geith catalogues the dual-ram tilt bucket by machine class. AT04 models cover 2–4 ton excavators in 1200 mm (48 in), 1350 mm (54 in) and 1500 mm (60 in) widths, at 0.18, 0.2 and 0.25 cubic meters (0.24, 0.26 and 0.33 cubic yards). AT06 models cover 4–6 ton machines and carry 0.28 cubic meters (0.37 cubic yards) at both 1200 mm and 1350 mm. A single-ram version of the same bucket is stocked alongside it; ask us for the side-by-side table if you are weighing the two.

Couplers are the other half of a productive setup. The hydraulic quick coupler lets the operator change tools without leaving the cab, and the tilt coupler moves the tilt function to the coupler itself, so standard buckets and other attachments gain tilt instead of each one needing its own cylinders.

Matching an Attachment to Your Machine

Two things decide whether a Geith attachment fits: your excavator's operating weight and its pin geometry. Geith publishes a weight range per model rather than one blanket rating. The Auto-Klamp AK12-15A, for instance, is listed for machines of 16,000–32,000 lb (7.3–14.5 tons), and the progressive linkage thumbs step from the PL065 at 24,251–30,865 lb to the PL070 at 30,865–39,683 lb. The mechanical grapple sits at the top of the range, listed for 18 to 41 ton excavators and built for demolition, waste handling and bulk material work.

Pin and mount detail matters just as much. The excavator pallet forks are configured around dipper pins of 60, 65 and 80 mm, link pins of 60 or 80 mm, centers of 365, 400 and 415 mm, and dipper widths of 256 or 336 mm, in coupler and dumbbell setups. The PL thumb is offered pin-on or weld-on depending on model. Send us your make, model and pin dimensions and we will confirm the configuration before the order goes in.

Ownership: Parts, Warranty and Freight

Vovlift is an authorized Geith dealer. Attachments ship new with the manufacturer's warranty, and replacement parts are ordered against Geith model numbers rather than substituted from aftermarket equivalents. Keeping the designation from your invoice — AK12-15A, PL070, AT06-1350 and so on — makes that lookup immediate.

Hydraulic models need a plumbed auxiliary circuit on the machine. Geith's PL specification lists an auxiliary hydraulic circuit as a requirement, and the same applies to the HK and HT thumbs, the tilt buckets and both couplers. If your excavator is not already plumbed, budget for that work alongside the attachment; the mechanical thumbs and fixed buckets avoid it entirely.
