Frame equipment splits into three formats, and the right one depends far more on your bay than on headline pulling tons.

Drive-on rack and rail systems

These give you a fixed working length, integrated anchoring and repeatable clamp positions, which is what you want for structural work and measuring. The KT-299U is listed with a 22 ft working rail, a maximum lifting weight of 3.5 T (7,716 lb) and a maximum vehicle length before repositioning of 5,200 mm (17.1 ft / 204.7 in). The KT-198L is a 20 ft welded steel frame rack listed at 3,500 kg (7,700 lb) maximum load.

Compact floor units

The KT-310 is the small-footprint option at 3,320 mm long by 880 mm wide (130.7 in x 34.6 in), with a listed height range of 110-1,700 mm (4.3-66.9 in), 60 kN pulling capacity, a 360-degree pulling radius and a maximum loading capacity of 3,000 kg (6,614 lbs).

Standalone hydraulic frame pullers

The KT-222 (5-ton), KT-CL150 (10-ton), KT-SB288 (50 kN) and KT-YA260 are pullers and straighteners rather than full racks. They suit shops that do cosmetic and light structural pulls but cannot dedicate a bay to a rack.

A note on terminology: a double scissor frame machine is a rack built on twin scissor mechanisms so the deck lifts the vehicle to working height and lowers flat for drive-on loading. Reading Pulling Capacity Against Load Capacity

These are two different numbers and buyers routinely conflate them. Load or lifting capacity is the vehicle weight the rack carries: 3.5 T (7,716 lb) on the KT-299U, 3,500 kg (7,700 lb) on the KT-198L, 3,000 kg (6,614 lbs) on the KT-310. Pulling capacity is the force the tower applies: 10 tons on the KT-198L, 60 kN on the KT-310, 50 kN on the KT-SB288. Kilonewtons and tons describe the same quantity in different units, since a metric ton-force is roughly 9.8 kN, so convert before comparing models.

The KT-198L is listed with two 10T high-pressure oil cylinders and two 3.5 m (11.5 ft) main chains, which tells you more about real-world reach than the tons figure alone. The KT-299U lists a hydraulic system maximum working pressure of 25 MPa (3,626 psi).

Shop Power, Air Supply and Floor Space

Check three site constraints before you buy. Power: the KT-310 is listed at 220V/380V, and both A/C machines are listed at 220 V - 50 Hz. US shops run 60 Hz, so confirm the supply configuration with us before ordering rather than assuming a wall outlet will work. Air: the KT-198L requires 0.8 MPa air supply and the KT-299U lists 0.8-1.5 MPa (116 psi at the low end), which means a compressor sized for sustained demand, not an intermittent portable. Separately, OSHA 1910.242(b) limits compressed air used for cleaning to 30 psi, so do not repurpose the frame machine air line for blow-off without a regulated tip. Floor: a 22 ft rail or 20 ft rack needs clear approach and walk-around space at both ends. The KT-198L lists single platform width of 610 mm (24 in) with 920 mm (36.2 in) between platforms. Anchoring requirements depend on your slab; follow the manufacturer's installation instructions rather than a rule of thumb.

A/C Service, Welding and Lifting Equipment for the Same Bay

• Undersizing the compressor. Air-driven frame equipment and the 50-ton air/hydraulic press draw sustained volume, not just peak pressure.
• Ignoring voltage and frequency. See the listed ratings above and confirm before shipping.
• Skipping the training and PPE line item. OSHA 1910.132 requires employers to assess workplace hazards and select PPE accordingly, ANSI Z87.1 covers eye and face protection, and OSHA 1910.147 governs control of hazardous energy during servicing and maintenance. Structural repair also follows OEM repair procedures, which change by model year.
• Forgetting delivered cost. Freight, rigging, anchors, air line runs and electrical work are real numbers that rarely appear in a purchase comparison.
