Shop Dumpers for Sale: What This Category Covers

This page lists nine dumpers from two manufacturers: IMER (five machines) and Makinex (four). Prices run from $12,539 to $94,119. Rated loads start at 1,102 lbs on the IMER 5105001 mini track dumper and reach 5,070 lbs on the IMER 5230001 Tracker 4150; the Makinex machines are rated at 1,000 kg (E1000, E1000 Hi-Tip and H1000) and 2,000 kg (HG E2000). Power sources cover lithium battery, gasoline and diesel, so for most buyers the real question is not which brand but which combination of load rating, bed volume, machine width and fuel type fits the site.

A dumper carries material across ground a wheelbarrow can't handle quickly and a loader can't reach without tearing the site up — trench spoil, wet concrete, demolition debris, landscape rock, bagged product. Machines in this class are load-and-haul tools. They don't dig and they don't tier pallets, so if that's the work, this is the wrong category.

Track Dumpers vs. Wheel Dumpers: Which Suits Your Site

Tracked dumpers spread machine and payload weight over a long contact patch, which keeps them moving on mud, sand, fresh fill and slopes where tires spin or rut. All five IMER machines here are tracked, and the Makinex E1000 Hi-Tip uses a compact tracked design. The trade-off is travel speed and consumables: rubber tracks wear against abrasive material and curbs, and replacing one is a bigger job than swapping a tire.

Wheel dumpers are quicker over hard, flat ground — paved yards, finished slabs, long haul routes — and tires are cheap to service. Ground clearance matters as much as undercarriage type. The IMER Carry 107 sits at 4 inches of clearance, suited to relatively clean paths, while the Tracker 4150 has 9 ¾ inches of clearance on 10 ½ inch tracks for rougher going. Walk the actual haul route before you choose.

Micro Dumper Sizing: Load Rating, Bed Volume and Access Width

Two numbers govern the purchase and buyers routinely watch only one. Rated operating load is the weight limit; bed volume is the space limit. Dense material hits the weight limit long before the skip is full, and light material does the reverse. The IMER Carry 107 pairs a 1,543 lb operating load with 11.6 cu ft of payload capacity; the Tracker 4150 pairs 5,070 lbs with 41.3 cu ft. The Makinex E1000 Hi-Tip is specified both ways, at 1,000 kg / 400 L.

Access width decides whether the machine can work at all. The Carry 107 is 30 inches wide and extends to 42 inches, so the narrow setting passes tight gates and side yards while the wide setting adds stability once inside. The Makinex E1000 Hi-Tip measures 2,050 mm x 850 mm x 980 mm. Measure your tightest gate, doorway, elevator or scaffold gap first — that one dimension eliminates more candidates than capacity does.

Electric, Gasoline or Diesel: Matching Power Source to the Job

Battery machines earn their place indoors and on noise-restricted or occupied sites. The Makinex E1000 runs a 24V, 120 Ah lithium pack with up to 12 hours of runtime and a 90-minute charge from 20% to 80%; the HG E2000 also lists 12 hours of runtime with a 2.5-hour charge over the same range, driven by a one-pedal electric system. Two-shift work depends on that charge window, so confirm you have suitable power where the machine parks.

Combustion still wins on continuous outdoor duty, where refueling takes a minute. The IMER Carry 107 uses a Honda GX390 11 HP gasoline engine with electric start, the Makinex H1000 is gasoline powered, and the Tracker 4150 runs a 24.8 HP Kubota V1505 four-cylinder diesel. Exhaust is the constraint indoors: carbon monoxide builds fast in enclosed spaces, and OSHA sets a permissible exposure limit of 50 ppm as an eight-hour time-weighted average in 29 CFR 1910.1000. Inside work means battery power, or engineered ventilation and monitoring.

High Lift Dumper, Swivel Dump and the "Buggy Lift and Dumper" Question

Discharge geometry decides how many handling steps you save. A high lift (hi-tip) dumper raises the skip before tipping, so it unloads straight into a dumpster, hopper or truck bed instead of piling material on the ground for a second handling. The Makinex H1000 unloads at 125 cm / 49 inches, and the E1000 Hi-Tip tips up to 125 cm. The IMER Tracker 4150 and TRACKER 2833 use a 180° hydraulic swivel dump, discharging to either side without repositioning — valuable in trenches and along walls.

Shoppers searching "buggy lift and dumper" are usually weighing these machines against concrete buggies. The categories overlap but aren't identical: buggies are built around wet concrete placement on prepared surfaces, while dumpers handle mixed material over rougher terrain. A hi-tip or swivel dumper covers most buggy work; a buggy rarely covers rough-ground hauling.

Slopes, Operator Training and Ownership Costs

Grade limits are machine-specific and load-dependent. IMER rates the Carry 107 at 26% slope unloaded and 12% fully loaded — a useful reminder that a full skip roughly halves the safe grade. Keep the load uphill, avoid turning across a steep face, and treat published slope figures as dry, firm-ground limits.

Training is not optional on a jobsite. OSHA 1926.21(b)(2) requires employers to instruct each employee in the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions applicable to their work, and OSHA 1926.602(a)(9)(ii) requires an audible reverse alarm or an observer for earthmoving equipment with an obstructed view to the rear. Walk-behind machines add pinch-point risk between the operator position and fixed objects, so keep bystanders out of the travel path.

Ownership cost concentrates in three places: rubber tracks, hydraulic hoses and fittings, and either engine service or battery care. Check track tension and hose chafe at each service interval, keep the undercarriage clear of packed debris, and follow the manufacturer's charging routine on lithium machines instead of running packs flat.
