Find the right roof anchor, beam anchor or lifeline system for the structure your crew actually works on. This collection brings together Tractel fall protection anchors for standing seam, flat metal, ridge and screw-down roof installations. It also includes a sliding beam anchor for steel beams, temporary and stanchion-post horizontal lifeline systems, and Stopcable ladder safety systems for fixed ladders. It suits roofing contractors, facility managers, maintenance teams and steel erectors who need an anchorage matched to the surface they work on.

View full detailsThe first question is not "which anchor is strongest" but "what am I attaching to?" A roof anchor only does its job when it suits the roof surface and the structure beneath it. Before you choose, identify the roofing material, the profile (seamed, flat panel or pitched with a ridge) and what framing or deck the anchor will connect to. Then match it to the anchor built for that surface:
If you are looking for a roof anchor for a metal roof, the seam profile decides it. A raised, interlocking seam points to the clamp anchor. A flat panel points to the flat metal roof anchor.
Fall protection anchors in this collection fall into four broad groups. Each solves a different problem:
Choose a single-point roof anchor when the work stays in a limited zone. Choose a horizontal lifeline when workers need to travel along a roof edge, a beam or a long work line.
| Product | Type | Attaches to | Options in product data |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standing Seam Roof Clamp Anchor (N650) | Fall protection anchor | Standing seam metal roof | Anchor only; with 30 ft. (9 m) Blocfor AES SRL; with 50 ft. (15 m) Blocfor SRL |
| Flat Metal Roof Anchor (N640) | Fall protection anchor | Flat metal roof | Anchor only; with 30 ft. (9 m) Blocfor AES SRL; with 50 ft. (15 m) Blocfor SRL |
| Adjustable / Swivel Ridge Roof Anchor (N630) | Fall protection anchor | Roof ridge | Anchor only; with 30 ft. (9 m) Blocfor AES SRL; with 50 ft. (15 m) Blocfor SRL |
| Screw-Down Roof Anchor (N620) | Fall protection anchor | Roof, screw-fastened | With 30 ft. (9 m) Blocfor AES SRL; with 50 ft. (15 m) Blocfor SRL |
| BeamSlide Sliding Beam Anchor (V5002) | Fall protection anchor | Steel beam flange | Single part number |
| Tempo III (H66500) | Temporary horizontal lifeline | Temporary anchorages | Single part number |
| Travsmart (HK-SMG2) | Horizontal lifeline | Stanchion posts | 100 ft. (30 m) to 300 ft. (90 m) |
| Stopcable, stainless or galvanized | Ladder safety system | Fixed ladder | 20 ft (6 m) to 140 ft (42 m), 3/8 in wire rope |
For a ladder safety system, measure the full climbing height of the ladder. Then pick the Stopcable length that covers it. Lengths run from 20 ft (6 m) to 140 ft (42 m). For a Travsmart horizontal lifeline, measure the run between end stanchions and choose from 100 ft. (30 m), 150 ft. (45 m), 200 ft. (60 m), 250 ft. (75 m) or 300 ft. (90 m).
Most roof anchors here come either as the anchor alone or bundled with a Blocfor self-retracting lifeline in 30 ft. (9 m) or 50 ft. (15 m) lengths. Buy the anchor alone if you already own compatible connecting devices. If you need more SRL choices, browse our self-retracting lifelines.
A listed standard describes the product, not your jobsite. You still have to install and use every system according to the manufacturer's instructions and your site's fall protection program.
Have a qualified person confirm that the structure can support the anchorage. Place anchors to limit swing falls, ideally close to directly above the work. Inspect anchors, wire rope and connectors before each use. Remove anything damaged, corroded or involved in a fall from service. Stainless wire rope is a sensible choice for corrosive or outdoor environments, while galvanized rope suits general applications. Also plan how you would reach a worker after a fall. See our rescue and descent devices.
Every product in this collection comes from Tractel, including the Stopcable, Tempo, Travsmart, BeamSlide and Blocfor product lines. For harnesses, confined space equipment and related gear, explore the full fall protection and confined space range.
The main groups are single-point roof anchors, beam anchors, horizontal lifelines and ladder safety systems. Roof anchors are matched to the roof surface: standing seam, flat metal, ridge or screw-down. Beam anchors clamp to steel beams. Horizontal lifelines let workers move along a run without unhooking. Ladder systems keep climbers connected on fixed ladders. Choose based on the structure you have and how far workers need to move.
It depends on the panel profile. If the roof has raised, interlocking seams, look at the Tractel Standing Seam Roof Clamp Anchor, which clamps onto the seam. For flat metal roof surfaces, the Tractel Flat Metal Roof Anchor is the matching option. Both come as the anchor alone or bundled with a Blocfor self-retracting lifeline in 30 ft. (9 m) or 50 ft. (15 m) lengths.
The Tractel Tempo III is a temporary horizontal lifeline system for jobs where the lifeline is set up for the work and then removed. The Tractel Travsmart is built for stanchion posts and comes in lengths from 100 ft. (30 m) to 300 ft. (90 m). Its product data lists ANSI Z359.6-2016, ANSI A10.32-2012 and CSA Z259.16-21, among other standards.
Stopcable uses 3/8 in wire rope in either stainless or galvanized versions. Lengths run from 20 ft (6 m) to 140 ft (42 m), so measure the full climbing height before you choose. The product data lists ANSI A14.13, OSHA 1910.66, app. C, and CSA Z259.2.5-17. Stainless is a common choice for corrosive or outdoor environments.
Yes. The standing seam, flat metal and ridge roof anchors are available as the anchor alone or bundled with a Blocfor AES self-retracting lifeline of 30 ft. (9 m) or a Blocfor self-retracting lifeline of 50 ft. (15 m). The Screw-Down Roof Anchor comes only in the two bundled versions. Choose the lifeline length based on how far you need to move from the anchor.
