Product Overview
In short
The Triumph NTC-950 / NTB-800 combo pairs a swing-arm tire changer that handles rims up to 26 inches with an electronic wheel balancer, so one purchase covers mounting, dismounting, and balancing. Both machines run on 110V power.

What the combo covers

This package is the two machines a shop needs to mount, dismount, and balance wheels the day they arrive: the Triumph NTC-950 tire changer and the Triumph NTB-800 electronic wheel balancer. It is aimed at independent shops, used-car lots, and mobile tire techs getting into full wheel service without sourcing each machine separately. Both units are built for passenger cars and 1/2-, 3/4-, and 1-ton light trucks, including Load Range C, D, and E tires, wheels from 14 to 24 inches, and 16.5-inch wheels. Neither machine is configured for box trucks, over-the-road trucks, or 19.5-inch and larger commercial wheels, so plan around that if you take in commercial work. The combo price is $4,595 shipped, with free shipping to the lower 48 United States.

NTC-950 tire changer capability

The NTC-950 clamps 16 to 28 inches on the inside and 14 to 26 inches on the outside, takes wheel widths up to 15 inches, and handles tires up to 43 inches in diameter. Bead breaking is handled by a 5,500-lb bead breaker, and Triumph's Jet Blast inflation system seats beads that will not take air on a standard hose. The motor is 1.5 HP on standard 110V power, with a maximum operating pressure of 120 PSI. Assembled, the machine occupies a 56 by 40 by 80 inch footprint, so measure your bay ceiling before you commit to a spot. It ships in a 51 by 38 by 51 inch crate at 700 lbs. Per Triumph's size guide, the NTC-950 is not rated for run-flat tires.

NTB-800 wheel balancer capability

The NTB-800 spins wheels from 10 to 28 inches with rim widths of 1.5 to 20 inches and tire diameters up to 44 inches, on a 36 mm shaft rated for wheel assemblies up to 150 lbs. Balancing accuracy is plus or minus 1 gram on a 6-to-9-second cycle, and the display reads in standard or metric units. Two features separate it from entry-level balancers. Automatic data entry means you key in one parameter and the machine reads the other two, which cuts setup time and reduces entry errors on every wheel. A wheel brake holds the assembly still while you tap weights on. The 1/4 HP motor runs on 110V. Assembled size is 28 by 48 by 62 inches; shipping size is 30 by 39 by 51 inches at 300 lbs.

Delivery, setup, and warranty

The combo ships by LTL common-carrier freight on a 48-foot semi with lift-gate service, so the driver lowers the equipment to the ground at the back of the truck. The driver does not move the machines into your shop or assemble them — with a 700-lb tire changer crate and a 300-lb balancer crate, arrange a pallet jack, forklift, or help before the truck arrives. If you would rather pick up, the equipment can be routed to the carrier's nearest freight terminal, and you schedule the delivery appointment directly with the freight company. Triumph tire equipment carries a 1-year parts warranty, parts only; labor is not covered. If a part fails, you call for phone troubleshooting and the replacement part ships free with free ground shipping, but installing it is your responsibility. Wear and consumable items are excluded.

FAQ about this model

What power supply do these machines need?
Both the NTC-950 tire changer and the NTB-800 wheel balancer run on standard 110V power. The changer uses a 1.5 HP motor and the balancer a 1/4 HP motor.

How much ceiling and floor space does the tire changer need?
The NTC-950 measures 56" x 40" x 80" assembled, so you need at least 80 inches of vertical clearance plus room to work around the table. The NTB-800 balancer is 28" x 48" x 62" assembled.

What size rims and tires will the combo handle?
The NTC-950 clamps 16" to 28" inside and 14" to 26" outside, with wheel widths to 15" and tires to 43" in diameter. The NTB-800 balances wheels 10" to 28" with rim widths of 1.5" to 20" and tires to 44".

Can the balancer handle run-flat tires?
The NTB-800 wheel balancer handles run-flat wheels, within its 75-lb total-weight limit. Per Triumph's size guide, the NTC-950 tire changer is not rated for run-flat tires.

Will this combo service commercial truck wheels?
No. Both machines are built for passenger cars and 1/2-, 3/4-, and 1-ton light trucks, including Load Range C, D, and E tires and 16.5-inch wheels. Neither is configured for box trucks, over-the-road trucks, or 19.5-inch and larger commercial wheels.

How much do I have to enter to balance a wheel?
Just one parameter. The NTB-800's automatic data entry reads the other two for you, which cuts setup time and reduces entry errors on every wheel.

What comes with the combo?
The NTC-950 includes a metal and plastic demount head, plastic wheel clamp covers, a tire iron, and a lube bucket and brush. The NTB-800 includes a plastic safety hood, quick-release wing nut, cone adapters, wheel weight hammer, and rim caliper.

Can I service motorcycle wheels?
Yes, with an additional adapter on either machine. Motorcycle service is not part of the standard configuration.

How does the combo ship?
By LTL common-carrier freight on a 48-foot semi with lift-gate service, so the driver lowers the equipment to the ground at the back of the truck. The driver does not move the machines into your shop or assemble them, and you schedule the delivery appointment directly with the freight company.
