Product Overview
In short
The Triumph NTC-950-2 / NTB-1200 combo pairs a dual-arm rim-clamp tire changer with a 5,500 lbs bead breaker and a computer wheel balancer that spins wheels from 10" to 28". Both machines run on 110V power and a shop compressed-air supply.

What the NTC-950-2 and NTB-1200 combo covers

The Triumph NTC-950-2 is a rim-clamp tire changer with dual pneumatic assist arms; the NTB-1200 is a computer wheel balancer with an integrated wheel lift. Bought together, they let a shop break down, mount, and balance most of the tires that roll through the bay from one setup. The changer covers passenger cars and half-, three-quarter-, and one-ton trucks, plus load-range C, D, and E tires, 14"–24" wheels, 16.5" wheels, and run-flat wheels. Motorcycle wheels are supported with an additional adapter. It is not rated for box-truck, over-the-road-truck, 19.5", 21.5", or implement wheels. The balancer reaches further on the balancing side: it covers everything the changer does and adds box-truck, over-the-road-truck, 19.5", 21.5", and implement wheels, up to a 51" tire diameter and 350 lbs.

Tire changer clamping range and bead handling

The turntable clamps rims from 16" to 28" on the inside and 14" to 26" on the outside, takes wheel widths up to 15", and handles tire diameters up to 43". A 1.5 HP motor drives it, up to a 120 PSI maximum working pressure. The dual pneumatic assist arms hold and press the tire through mount and demount, which is what makes wide-profile, low-profile, and run-flat tires workable without fighting the bead by hand. A side-mounted bead breaker delivers 5,500 lbs of force for tough light-truck and truck tires, and the bead blast system fires a concentrated burst of air into the sidewall to help break and seat stubborn beads. Tooling in the box: steel and plastic mount/demount heads, plastic wheel-clamp covers, a soap tank with application brush, and a tire tool bar.

Balancing range, accuracy and the wheel lift

The NTB-1200 spins wheels from 10" to 28" with rim widths of 1.5" to 20", balances loads up to 350 lbs, and accepts tire diameters up to 51" on a 42 mm shaft. It reads to Β±1 gram on a 6-to-9-second cycle and displays in standard or metric units. Data entry is manual β€” there is no automatic data entry, so you set the distance, width, and diameter for each wheel yourself. The integrated wheel lift raises heavy truck assemblies onto the shaft so one tech can load them, and a plastic safety hood shields the operator and keeps debris off the machine during the spin. A 1/3 HP motor drives the balancer. Also included: a quick-release wing nut, cone adapters, a wheel weight hammer, and a rim caliper.

Power, air, floor space and freight

Both machines run on 110V single-phase power β€” standard shop power, no special service to install β€” and both require a shop compressed-air supply; the changer operates up to a 120 PSI working pressure. Plan floor space from the assembled dimensions: the tire changer is 56" x 93" x 80" and the balancer is 28" x 47" x 56". Crated, the changer ships at 38" x 65" x 51" and 900 lbs, the balancer at 47" x 39" x 50" and 720 lbs. Shipping is free to the lower 48 United States. The combo moves by LTL common-carrier freight with lift-gate service, so the driver lowers the equipment to the ground at the back of the truck. The driver does not move it inside or assemble it, and you schedule the delivery appointment with the freight company directly.

Key features

  • Dual pneumatic assist arms β€” hold and press the tire through mount and demount, so wide-profile, low-profile, and run-flat tires come off and on without hand-fighting the bead.
  • Bead blast system β€” a concentrated air burst into the sidewall helps break stubborn beads and seat and inflate the tire.
  • 5,500 lbs bead breaker β€” side-mounted, with enough force to break beads on tough light-truck and truck tires.
  • Rim-clamp turntable β€” clamps 16"–28" inside and 14"–26" outside, wheel widths to 15", tire diameters to 43", driven by a 1.5 HP motor.
  • Integrated wheel lift β€” raises heavy wheel assemblies onto the balancer's 42 mm shaft so one tech can load them.
  • Β±1 gram balancing accuracy β€” a 6-to-9-second spin cycle with a standard or metric display, on wheels 10"–28" and up to 350 lbs.
  • Complete tool set β€” steel and plastic mount/demount heads, plastic wheel-clamp covers, soap tank with brush, tire tool bar, plus safety hood, quick-release wing nut, cone adapters, weight hammer, and rim caliper.

FAQ about this model

What power does the NTC-950-2 / NTB-1200 combo need?
Both machines run on 110V single-phase power, so no special electrical service is required. Both also require a shop compressed-air supply.

Do I need an air compressor to run this combo?
Yes. Both the tire changer and the wheel balancer require a shop compressed-air supply to operate. The tire changer works up to a 120 PSI maximum air pressure.

What wheel sizes does the NTC-950-2 clamp?
The turntable clamps rims from 16" to 28" on the inside and 14" to 26" on the outside. It takes wheel widths up to 15" and tire diameters up to 43".

Does the NTB-1200 balancer enter wheel data automatically?
No. The NTB-1200 uses manual data entry β€” you set the distance, width, and diameter for each wheel. It reads to Β±1 gram on a 6-to-9-second spin cycle with a standard or metric display.

Can the tire changer handle run-flat and low-profile tires?
Yes. The dual pneumatic assist arms hold the tire through mount and demount, and the bead blast system helps break and seat stubborn beads, so run-flat, low-profile, and wide-profile tires can be worked without fighting the bead by hand.

Will this combo handle 19.5" wheels?
The NTB-1200 balancer will β€” it covers box-truck, over-the-road-truck, 19.5", 21.5", and implement wheels up to 51" in diameter and 350 lbs. The NTC-950-2 changer is not rated for those wheels.

How much floor space do the two machines take?
The tire changer's assembled size is 56" x 93" x 80" and the balancer's is 28" x 47" x 56". Crated shipping dimensions are 38" x 65" x 51" (900 lbs) for the changer and 47" x 39" x 50" (720 lbs) for the balancer.

How does the combo ship, and what is covered under warranty?
Shipping is free to the lower 48, moving by LTL common-carrier freight with lift-gate service β€” the driver lowers the equipment to the ground at the back of the truck but does not move it inside or assemble it. Triumph tire equipment carries a 1-year parts warranty, parts only with no labor; wear and consumable items are excluded.
