Product Overview
In short
The NT-16 is a floor-plate two-post auto lift rated at 16,000 lbs, built for full-size trucks, vans, and heavy SUVs. It lifts from a 7" lowered height to a 72" maximum lifting height in 40 seconds on a 220V AC, 3 HP single-phase power unit.

What the NT-16 is built to lift

The NT-16 is a 16,000 lb two-post lift aimed at full-time shop work on full-size trucks, vans, and heavy SUVs rather than passenger cars alone. Its range runs from a 7" lowered height to a maximum lifting height of 72", and a full cycle takes 40 seconds on the 220V AC, 3 HP single-phase power unit. Overall width is 142", with 114" between the posts and a 100" drive-through, so bay layout has to account for the full 142" footprint rather than just the column spacing. Arm reach runs 32" to 49.25". Shipping weight is 2,000 lbs. Triumph states ISO 9001 manufacturing and CE conformity, and the lift carries a 1-year parts warranty.

Floor-plate design and ceiling clearance

The two columns connect at the floor with a low-profile drive-over plate instead of an overhead crossbar. That matters in bays with limited headroom: there is no bar above the columns eating into ceiling clearance, which is why floor-plate lifts get specified in shops with under nine feet of headroom where an overhead-bar lift would not fit. The trade-off is the plate itself β€” you drive over it on every entry and exit. Base plate size is listed at 20" Γ— 20", and overall height of the lift is 120", or ten feet. Ceiling planning is not simply that 120" figure, though: you need clearance for the columns plus the height of the tallest vehicle you intend to raise to working position.

Arms, adapters, and safety systems

Lifting is handled by dual hydraulic chain-assist cylinders built to ANSI standards with NOK oil seals. The carriages ride on self-lubricating UHMW polyethylene sliders and bronze bushings. Four symmetric arms β€” all the same length, with the columns facing each other directly β€” swing under the vehicle on telescoping inner and outer sections, giving 32" to 49.25" of reach. Symmetric geometry centers the vehicle between the columns rather than setting it back toward the driver's door the way an asymmetric layout does, so plan door-opening clearance accordingly. The arms finish in rubber lift pads, and a stackable adapter set in 1.5-inch, 3-inch, and 6-inch heights covers trucks and SUVs that need extra reach. A single-point safety release with dual safety design holds the lift on lock, backed by an electrical override automatic safety shut-off that cuts power on an out-of-range condition.

Installation, power, and freight delivery

The NT-16 installs on a level, cured concrete floor. Both listings' specification tables give 3,000 PSI minimum with 6" minimum thickness, while the manufacturer's description text states a minimum rated 4,000 PSI β€” confirm the requirement against the product manual before drilling. Electrical is 220V AC single-phase for the 3 HP unit, with a 30-amp breaker and minimum 10-gauge wire listed as the recommended service. Mounting hardware (anchor bolts, washers, nuts), truck adapters, hydraulic hoses, synchronizing cables, and the product manual ship with the lift at no extra charge. Installation is not included in the base price; the manual covers layout, anchor-bolt installation, hydraulic hook-up, cable adjustment, and test run. The lift ships freight on an LTL carrier, and unloading at the receiving location is the buyer's responsibility.

FAQ about this model

What electrical service does the NT-16 need?
The 3 HP power unit runs on 220V AC, single-phase. The manual lists a 30-amp breaker and minimum 10-gauge wire as the recommended service. Confirm you have a dedicated 220V single-phase circuit available before ordering.

What concrete does the NT-16 require?
The specification tables list 3,000 PSI minimum concrete at 6" minimum thickness, on a level, cured floor. Note that the manufacturer's own description text states a minimum rated 4,000 PSI, so verify the figure in the product manual before you anchor.

Will the NT-16 fit in a shop with a low ceiling?
The lift measures 120" (10 feet) overall height, and the floor-plate design puts no overhead bar above the columns. Your ceiling has to clear the columns plus the height of the tallest vehicle raised to working position, so plan ceiling height on that basis rather than on the 120" figure alone.

Are the arms symmetric or asymmetric?
Symmetric. All four arms are the same length and the columns face each other directly, which centers the vehicle between the columns instead of offsetting it toward the driver-side door the way an asymmetric lift does.

What's included with the NT-16?
Two columns (power side and offside) with the floor-plate connecting bar, the 220V 3 HP hydraulic power unit, four symmetric arms with rubber lift pads, the stackable 1.5"/3"/6" adapter set, truck adapters, mounting hardware (anchor bolts, washers, nuts), hydraulic hoses, synchronizing cables, and the product manual.

Do I need professional installation?
Installation is not included in the base price. Triumph supplies the mounting hardware and a manual covering layout, anchor-bolt installation, hydraulic hook-up, cable adjustment, and test run. Many shop owners install in-house with a helper, and using a third-party contractor is also common.

How does the NT-16 ship, and who unloads it?
It ships freight on an LTL common carrier on a 48-foot semi truck, at a 2,000 lb shipping weight. Unloading is your responsibility β€” the driver will not unload it and lift-gate service is not available for auto lifts, so plan on a forklift, Bobcat, tractor, tow truck, or backhoe. Delivery to the carrier's nearest freight terminal for pickup is an alternative if you cannot unload on site.

How fast does the NT-16 lift, and how low does it go?
It travels from a 7" lowered height to a 72" maximum lifting height in 40 seconds.

What warranty and certifications does it carry?
The NT-16 ships with a 1-year parts warranty; defective parts are replaced within the period, while labor, freight, and consumables are not covered. Triumph states ISO 9001 manufacturing and CE conformity.
