Product Overview
In short
The Triumph NSP-20 is a 20 ton manually driven shop press built for pressing bearings and similar press-fit work. It measures 21 ½ between the uprights on a 25 ½ wide x 22 long base, with an overall height of 60".

What the NSP-20 is

The NSP-20 is a 20 ton shop press, and the manufacturer lists it as manually driven — you work the ram by hand rather than through an electric pump or an air-over-hydraulic setup. The listing calls it a press that is great for pressing bearings, which is the job most shops buy a press in this class for: bearings, bushings and similar press-fit parts that need controlled, straight-line force rather than hammer blows. Because it is hand operated, there is nothing to wire and no air line to run to it, so placement in the shop is governed by floor space and access rather than by utilities. Everything described on this page comes from the published specification; where that specification is silent, this page stays silent rather than guessing.

Working width and footprint

Two numbers decide whether a press fits your work: how much room you have between the uprights, and how much floor the frame occupies. The NSP-20 gives 21 ½ between uprights, which is the clear span your part, bed plates and any support fixtures have to live inside. The base measures 25 ½ wide x 22 long, so the frame takes up a compact rectangle of floor — roughly the plan area of a rolling tool cart. Overall height is 60", low enough to sit under most shop ceilings and low enough to see over from a standing position. Measure the widest hub, housing or axle assembly you expect to press and compare it against the 21 ½ span before ordering, since that dimension is the hard limit on part size.

Manual operation and shop utilities

The listing specifies manual drive, so the NSP-20 does not depend on shop power or compressed air to do its work. For a home garage or a mobile setup with limited electrical service, that removes an installation step entirely: no dedicated circuit, no receptacle, no compressor sizing exercise. The trade-off is throughput and effort. Hand pumping is slower than a powered ram and takes physical work at the handle, which matters if you press parts all day but rarely matters for the occasional bearing, bushing or pin. If your shop presses parts in volume and you want an air-over-hydraulic or electric ram instead, that is a different machine — the NSP-20 is specified as manually driven and should be evaluated on that basis.

What the listing does not state

In the interest of an accurate spec sheet, several details commonly asked about this class of press are not published for the NSP-20, and we will not estimate them. The listing does not state ram stroke, ram travel, throat depth, working height range, the number of bed height positions, bed plate dimensions or quantity, whether a pressure gauge is fitted, shipping weight, or any certification or listing mark. It also does not state assembly requirements or what ships in the carton beyond the press itself. If any of those points is decisive for your application — particularly stroke and bed plate size — contact us before ordering and we will confirm against the manufacturer's documentation rather than publish a number we cannot source.

FAQ about this model

How much space is there between the uprights on the NSP-20?
The measurement between uprights is 21 ½. That span is the working limit for the part plus any bed plates or support fixtures you place in the press.

How much floor space does this press take up?
The base measures 25 ½ wide x 22 long. Allow additional clearance around that footprint for loading parts and operating the handle.

Will it fit in a garage with a standard ceiling?
Overall height is 60", so ceiling clearance is not usually a limiting factor in a residential garage or a standard shop bay. Confirm the height against any low overhead obstructions such as door tracks or lighting.

Does the NSP-20 need electrical power or compressed air?
No. The press is specified as manually driven, so no electrical circuit and no air supply are required to operate it. No power source is listed for this model.

What is the rated capacity?
20 tons. The manufacturer does not publish a pound rating for this model, so we do not list one.

Is this press suitable for pressing bearings?
Yes — the manufacturer specifically describes the NSP-20 as a 20 ton shop press that is great for pressing bearings. Verify that your part fits within the 21 ½ span between uprights.

What is the ram stroke and how many bed positions does it have?
Those figures are not published for the NSP-20, so we do not list them. Contact us before ordering if stroke length or bed plate size is critical to your application.

How much does the NSP-20 cost?
The NSP-20 is $1,295 shipped to your address.
