Product Overview
In short
The Triumph NTC-690 is a heavy-duty tire changer for big truck, bus, tractor, and other industrial tires, with a robotic arm and wireless remote so one operator can work oversized assemblies. Its chuck clamps rims from 14 to 56 inches and it takes tires up to 90 inches in diameter.

What the NTC-690 is built to handle

The NTC-690 is aimed at the wheels that stop lighter machines cold: big truck, bus, tractor, and other industrial tires. Its working envelope is set by three numbers. The chuck clamps rims from 14 to 56 inches, spanning medium truck rims up through large industrial and implement wheels. Maximum tire diameter is 90 inches, which covers the tall sidewalls found on agricultural, industrial, and large truck tires. Maximum wheel width is 42 inches. Those three dimensions β€” not the tire's brand or load rating β€” decide whether an assembly fits the machine. Triumph publishes a fitment guide that maps each machine in the NTC and NTB lineup against wheel and vehicle types; it is shown in the product gallery. Check your actual wheel sizes against that guide before ordering, since a special-order machine is not something you want to discover is undersized after delivery.

Robotic arm and wireless remote operation

A robotic arm performs the demount and mount cycle, which is the difference between a one-person job and a crew with a pry bar. The operator runs the cycle from a wireless remote control rather than standing at a fixed console, so you can step back for a clear sightline on the bead and hold a safer stance while the tool applies the force. On oversized truck, bus, and tractor assemblies, that combination is the entire point of the machine: the arm carries the load, and the remote keeps the operator out of the pinch. Every NTC-690 ships with the tooling needed to start work β€” a crowbar, clamp covers, a bead press clamp, the wireless remote itself, and an instructional video β€” so a shop is not chasing accessories before the first billable job.

Power, air, and what it does not include

The NTC-690 runs on 220V shop power, so have a 220V supply available at the machine's location before it arrives. Shop air feeds it at up to 120 PSI maximum air pressure. One capability it does not have: bead blast. The specification sheet lists Bead Blast as No, meaning there is no air-blast bead-seating system built into this changer β€” worth knowing if your current machine has one and your technicians rely on it. Also note that Triumph does not publish assembled dimensions for the NTC-690. If your bay layout is tight, ask before committing rather than working backward from the crate size. The shipping crate measures 78" x 63" x 35", which gives a rough sense of scale but is not a substitute for a published assembled footprint.

Lead time, freight, and receiving the machine

The NTC-690 is a special-order item. It typically ships about two to three months after the order is placed, so treat it as a planned capacity addition rather than a same-week replacement for a changer that just failed. Shipping is free to the lower 48 United States. The machine moves by freight at a crated size of 78" x 63" x 35" and a shipping weight of 2,400 lbs. That weight is beyond what a standard liftgate can handle, so arrange a forklift or a loading dock to take delivery. If you need balancing capability for the same wheels, the NTC-690 pairs with the Triumph NTB-1200 Electronic Truck Wheel Balancer, available on its own or together as a combo.

FAQ about this model

What vehicles and tires does the NTC-690 handle?
It is built for big truck, bus, tractor, and other industrial tires. The working envelope is a 14–56 in. rim clamping range, a 90 in. maximum tire diameter, and up to 42 in. of wheel width. Match your specific wheel sizes to the Triumph fitment guide in the gallery before ordering.

What power does the NTC-690 need?
The machine runs on 220V shop power. Have that supply available at the machine's location before delivery.

How much air pressure does it require?
The NTC-690 operates at up to 120 PSI maximum air pressure from your shop air supply.

Does the NTC-690 have a bead blast system?
No. Bead Blast is listed as No, so there is no air-blast bead-seating system built into this changer.

How is the machine operated?
A robotic arm performs the demount and mount work, and the operator controls the cycle from a wireless remote control instead of wrestling oversized tires by hand.

What comes with the NTC-690?
Each machine includes a wireless remote control, a crowbar, clamp covers, a bead press clamp, and an instructional video.

How long does it take to get, and how does it ship?
The NTC-690 is a special-order machine and typically ships about 2–3 months after the order is placed. Shipping is free to the lower 48 United States.

What do I need to receive the freight delivery?
The crate measures 78" x 63" x 35" and weighs 2,400 lbs. Plan on a forklift or a loading dock to unload it β€” a standard liftgate cannot handle the unit.

Can I add a wheel balancer for the same wheels?
Yes. The NTC-690 pairs with the Triumph NTB-1200 Electronic Truck Wheel Balancer, available on its own or together with the changer as a combo.
