FAQ about this model

What is the lifting capacity of this hoist?

This hoist is rated for 5 tons. Check your load weight against this rating before ordering, and remember rated capacity assumes a properly installed and maintained unit operating within the specified conditions below.

What power supply does this hoist need?

It runs on three phase power, adjustable between 460V and 230V. Confirm which voltage your facility supplies and that your electrical setup matches one of these two settings before installation.

How is the hoist braked and protected against overload?

Braking is handled by a pull-rotor motor brake, and overload protection is provided by a friction clutch. Upper and lower travel limits use mechanical paddle limit switches, so the hoist stops automatically at the top and bottom of its travel range.

What is the hoist body made of?

The body is die-cast aluminum, which keeps the unit lighter than a steel-bodied hoist of the same capacity while still housing the motor brake, clutch, and limit switch components.

What operating conditions is this hoist rated for?

It's built to run in temperatures from -4°F to +104°F with humidity at 85% or less. If your site runs outside these ranges, this unit may not be the right fit without additional protection.

What warranty comes with this hoist?

Bison Lifting covers this hoist with a 12 month warranty. This applies to the hoist as sold under SKU HHBD05SK-02.
