How much can this hoist lift?
The rated capacity is 3/4 ton, or 750 kg. That figure is the maximum working load for model LH075-OL and should not be exceeded. Size the hoist to your heaviest planned lift, and remember that rigging hardware hanging below the hook, such as slings and shackles, counts toward the load on the hoist.
What does the overload protection actually do?
It slips instead of lifting once the load is too heavy. The integrated slip clutch activates at approximately 125% of rated capacity, so the mechanism disengages rather than letting the operator keep pulling on an overloaded chain. It is a protective device, not permission to lift above the 750 kg rating.
What grade is the load chain, and what hooks does it use?
The load chain is Grade 80, and both hooks are forged steel with safety latches. Grade 80 is the alloy chain grade normally specified for overhead lifting. The latches help keep slings and rigging seated in the hook throat during slack-chain moments. The body and frame are all-steel construction.
Does it need electricity or compressed air?
No. This is a manual lever hoist: the operator works the lever by hand to raise, lower, and tension the load, so there is no power supply, battery, or air line to arrange. That makes it workable outdoors, in remote locations, or anywhere there is no power available at the lift point.
How does the hoist hold the load between lever strokes?
A double pawl braking system holds it. The two pawls engage so the load stays where you leave it rather than running back down, and lowering happens in controlled increments as you reverse the lever direction. As with any hoist, a suspended load should not be left unattended or used to support people.
What warranty is included, and what maintenance does it need?
The hoist carries a 12-month warranty. Day to day, inspect the chain, hooks, and latches before use, keep the chain clean and lightly lubricated, and take the unit out of service if you find deformed hooks, stretched or nicked links, or a brake that will not hold. ASME B30.21 covers inspection requirements for lever hoists.
