FAQ about this model
How much weight can this trolley carry?
It is rated for 2 tons, which is 4,000 lbs or 1,814 kg. Treat that as the maximum total load on the trolley, not just the weight of the part being lifted. Add the hoist, chain, hooks, slings and any below-the-hook attachment to your load weight. If the combined figure is over 4,000 lbs, size up.
What beam sizes does the PT020-ATP fit?
It fits beam flange widths from 3.0" to 8.0" (76mm to 203mm). Measure the width of your beam's bottom flange before ordering, since that measurement, not the beam depth or the overall height, determines fit. Beams outside that range will not accept this trolley. The specifications do not list a flange thickness or beam profile limit.
How is the trolley adjusted to the beam?
Adjustment is by a threaded shaft, set with an Allen bit. You set the wheel spacing to match your measured flange width anywhere within the 3.0" to 8.0" range, so one trolley covers a range of beams rather than being fixed to a single size. No cutting or drilling of the trolley is involved.
Does it need electrical or air power?
No. This is a push trolley, so it is moved by hand along the beam, either by pushing the load or the hoist hanging from it. There is no motor, no control pendant and no power supply to install. That keeps installation simple, but it also means travel speed and positioning depend entirely on the operator.
What standard does it meet, and is it covered by a warranty?
It is built to ASME B30.11, the ASME standard covering monorails and underhung cranes, and it carries a 12-month warranty. The body is industrial-grade steel. The specifications do not list any other certifications or approvals, so if your site requires documentation beyond ASME B30.11 compliance, confirm that before ordering.
Who is this trolley not a good fit for?
It is not suited to loads above its 2-ton rating, beams outside the 3.0"-8.0" flange range, or work that needs powered travel. Manual pushing is practical for occasional positioning over short distances. For frequent, long-distance travel along a runway, or where an operator cannot safely walk with the load, a geared or motorized trolley is the better choice.
