Vovlift carries hydraulic rim and wheel straightening machines from Katool for tire shops, wheel repair businesses and full-service garages. The three models here — the KT-WL69, the KT-WL70 and the KT-WL75 with cutting tool — press bent wheels back toward true, so a shop can repair a rim in-house instead of replacing it. The Katool KT-WL70 takes a 26-inch working limit diameter and wheels up to 30 inches in overall diameter and 21.6 inches wide. Compare power supply, wheel size and machine weight before you order, and check each wheel against its manufacturer's repair policy before you straighten it.

View full detailsA rim straightener holds the wheel in a fixture and uses hydraulic force, applied through adjustable assist arms, to push a bent flange or barrel back into shape. It corrects the bends behind radial and lateral runout — the vibration a wheel balancer cannot cure by adding weight. It does not repair cracks, and many wheel and vehicle manufacturers prohibit heating or straightening of specific cast and forged alloy wheels, so check the wheel manufacturer's published repair policy and turn away the wheels it excludes.
These figures come from Katool and our product data for the models listed. Specifications not shown here are on the individual product pages.
| Model | Specifications |
|---|---|
| KT-WL70 | Working limit diameter 26″; maximum wheel diameter 30″; maximum wheel width 21.6″; power supply 220 V / 380 V; weight 573 lb (260 kg); hydraulic drive; designed for aluminum wheels |
| KT-WL69 | Hydraulic rim press for repairing defective rims; single-phase power options 110 V, 220 V or 380 V; 37.4″ L x 22.0″ W x 35.4″ H; net weight 529 lb (240 kg) |
| KT-WL75 | Rim straightener and hub repair machine with cutting tool for wheel cutting; Q235 and Q245 steel construction; 220 V |
Start with the largest wheel you actually repair every week, then check working diameter, overall wheel diameter and wheel width on the product page. If you also want to cut and refinish wheels on the same machine, the KT-WL75 combines straightening, hub repair and wheel cutting. Power is the next filter: the KT-WL69 lists 110 V, 220 V and 380 V single-phase options, the KT-WL70 lists 220 V / 380 V, and the KT-WL75 runs on 220 V. Confirm what your panel supplies and have a licensed electrician size the circuit under NFPA 70 (the National Electrical Code) before the machine arrives.
Straightening restores shape; it does not refinish the surface. For cosmetic restoration, the Katool KT-RPM80 rim polishing machine takes wheels up to 24″ with a dual-motor (spindle and bucket) design. After the repair, remount the tire on one of our tire changers and rebalance the assembly on a wheel balancer. The full range of bay equipment is in wheel service equipment.
These are heavy machines: the KT-WL70 weighs about 573 lb and the KT-WL69 529 lb, so plan a forklift, pallet jack or loading dock to take them off the truck, a level concrete floor, and room around the machine to roll wheels on and off. Hydraulic units also need the oil grade the manufacturer specifies — for the KT-WL70, Katool lists AW-46, or AW-32 for colder climates.
It holds a bent wheel in a fixture and uses hydraulic force, applied through adjustable assist arms, to push a bent flange or barrel back into shape. That corrects the radial and lateral runout behind vibration that a wheel balancer cannot fix by adding weight, so a shop can repair the rim instead of replacing it.
No. Straightening addresses bends and runout; it does not repair cracks. Many wheel and vehicle manufacturers prohibit heating or straightening of specific cast and forged alloy wheels, so check the wheel manufacturer's published repair policy for each wheel and turn away the ones it excludes.
The Katool KT-WL70. Katool lists a 26-inch working limit diameter, a 30-inch maximum wheel diameter and a 21.6-inch maximum wheel width, and describes it as designed for aluminum wheels. Check the product page of the KT-WL69 and KT-WL75 for their wheel size data before you choose.
The KT-WL69 lists single-phase 110 V, 220 V or 380 V options, the KT-WL70 lists 220 V / 380 V, and the KT-WL75 runs on 220 V. Confirm what your shop panel supplies and have a licensed electrician size the circuit before delivery.
Only if you refinish wheels as well as repair them. A straightener restores the wheel's shape; a polisher restores the surface. The Katool KT-RPM80 rim polishing machine takes wheels up to 24 inches and uses a dual-motor (spindle and bucket) design.
