Hoist Controls & Accessories

Hoist controls and accessories are the parts that make an installed hoist usable: the radio remote the operator holds, the trolleys and collector rings that carry power and air along a beam, the anchor bolt kits and templates that put a jib crane on the floor, and the rigging aids that keep loads under control. This category carries 40 active items from All Lift Cranes, Bison Lifting and Vestil, priced from $18 to $5,510. Shop by what you are doing — commissioning a new crane, replacing a failed control, or adding load-handling accessories to equipment already in service.

What Is in the Hoist Controls & Accessories Category

This collection covers 40 active items across three brands: All Lift Cranes (26 items), Bison Lifting (11) and Vestil (3), from $18 to $5,510. The parts sort into four working groups: operator controls, meaning radio remote systems; power and air feed hardware such as cable trolleys, collector rings, air swivels and tagline kits; installation hardware for jib cranes, including anchor bolt kits, plywood bolt pattern templates, an epoxy applicator gun and rotation stops; and load handling aids such as tripod hoist stands, hand winches and a towing arm assembly. Most buyers arrive here for one of two reasons — commissioning a crane that still needs its foundation and festoon hardware, or replacing a control that has failed on a machine already running production.

Radio Remote Control for Hoists: Single Speed vs. Dual Speed

Bison Lifting's Q-series splits on speed control. The Q600 and Q400 are single speed; the Q606, Q404 and Q202 are dual speed. The Q600 ships with two handheld transmitters and one receiver with a cable end, anti-vibration receiver mounting, an audible power status indicator, compliance with FCC 47 CFR Part 15 Subpart B, and a 12-month warranty. The Q606 carries the same transmitter count, cable-end receiver and anti-vibration mounting, adds rubber transmitter cases, and is listed as compatible with hoists and motorized trolleys.

Dual speed earns its cost where the operator has to spot a load into a fixture, a machine tool or a tight rack bay: a slow creep speed lets the hook settle without the pendulum swing that a single-speed contactor produces on every start and stop. Single speed is adequate for straight pick-and-place between the floor and a bench, and it is the simpler system to keep running.

Vestil's Radio Remote Control comes in two variants at $1,527.01 each: the RRC-2PB, a two-button unit listed as replacing the standard feature, and the four-button RRC-4PB. Both are made in the USA by Vestil Manufacturing and carry a 1-year limited warranty. By general convention, button count tracks the number of motions under control — two buttons for hoist up and down, four once a second motion such as trolley travel is added. Confirm your hoist's supply voltage, phase and control voltage before ordering any remote, because the receiver has to match the circuit it interrupts.

Festoon Trolleys, Collector Rings and Air Swivels

Power has to follow the hoist without the cable dragging or twisting off. Two approaches solve two different geometries. A festoon system loops flat cable or cord on trolleys that run the beam, and suits straight-line travel. A collector ring transfers power through rotating contacts, and is what you use when a jib boom swings continuously past the point where a fixed cable would wrap.

All Lift Cranes offers plastic 2-wheel trolleys in two versions — one for 4-wire flat cable, one for SO cord or hose in the 0.67–0.98 OD range — plus a steel cable trolley specified at one per 5 ft of span, which is the number to use when you size a run. The tagline kits with S-hooks, including a workstation-crane version, tow the trolley train so cable pays out evenly instead of bunching at one end.

On the rotating side, the bottom entry collector ring requires a 12 in. beam, so check beam depth before ordering; a top entry collector ring with mounting plate is the alternative. The top entry air swivel does the same job for pneumatic hoists, letting the air line rotate without kinking. ASME B30.11 covers monorails and underhung cranes and ASME B30.16 covers overhead underhung and stationary hoists — both are worth reading before you modify an existing runway.

Jib Crane Anchor Bolt Kits, Templates and Rotation Stops

Anchor hardware here splits into post-installed and cast-in. The epoxy anchor bolt kits are adhesive anchors set into cured concrete and are sized by crane series and capacity: 6-hole for the 1/8 ton FL-Series, 8-hole for the 1/4 ton FL-Series, and 12-hole kits for the 1/2 ton FL-Series, the FH1-Series and the FH2-Series. An epoxy applicator gun dispenses the adhesive. The cast-in options are a T-style 1 in. x 31 in. kit for the L-Series, a J-bolt 1 in. x 31 in. kit for the 1/2 ton H-Series, and a J-bolt 1 in. x 40 in. kit for the H-Series.

Plywood bolt pattern templates are stocked for 26 in., 28 in., 30 in., 48 in., a 36–48 in. base and a 54–72 in. base. The template holds the bolt pattern true while concrete is placed or while holes are drilled, which is the difference between a mast that drops onto its bolts and a day of chasing misaligned holes. These kits are matched to a specific crane series and are not interchangeable — order against the model on the crane's data plate, not by bolt diameter. Foundation dimensions, reinforcement and concrete strength come from the crane manufacturer's drawings and a licensed local engineer; ACI 318 addresses anchorage to concrete.

Rotation stops limit how far a boom can swing, keeping it clear of walls, racking, electrical panels or an adjacent crane's arc. Three styles are stocked: an adjustable collar style with two collars, a field-mounted bolt-on and a field-mounted weld-on. The collar style can be repositioned on site if the layout changes; the weld-on is permanent and needs a qualified welder plus touch-up coating.

Tagline Kits, Tripod Hoist Stands and Hand Winches

Vestil's tripod hoist stands give you an anchor point where no permanent structure exists — tank work, sump and manhole access, remote maintenance. Four models are listed:

ModelDescriptionPrice
TRI-SFSteel tripod stand, non-adjustable legs$1,398.85
TRI-SASteel tripod stand, adjustable height legs$1,749.95
TRI-AFAluminum tripod stand, non-adjustable legs$2,203.93

A fourth model tops the line at $2,707.88. Aluminum costs more and is the choice when a crew carries the stand between sites daily; steel is the value option when it stays put. Adjustable legs are worth the premium on uneven ground or where headroom varies between openings.

Vestil hand winches run from $153.97 to $504.73: the wall-mounted WALL-S single at $153.97 and WALL-D double at $159.95, plus stainless steel models including the HWSS-1200-NR at $276.30 and the HWSS-1800-NR. Stainless is the answer for washdown, food processing and coastal exposure. Confirm the manufacturer's rating for lifting versus pulling duty before you hang a load on any hand winch, and never use one to support people. OSHA 1910.184 covers slings, which is the rigging that goes between the winch or hoist hook and the load.

The Bison Lifting Towing Arm Assembly is built from ASTM A572 Grade 50 high-strength low-alloy steel with a 5,000 lb (2,268 kg) load capacity, 24 in. (61 cm) overall length, a pintle hook compatible eye with a 2.5 in. inner diameter, an industrial powder coat finish and a 12-month warranty.

How to Buy and Maintain Hoist Accessories

Before ordering, settle five things: beam flange width and depth plus total span for anything that rides the beam; supply voltage, phase and control voltage for any remote; the exact crane series and capacity for anchor hardware; the environment, since washdown and outdoor duty drive material choice; and who installs it, because concrete work and control wiring usually mean a contractor and an electrician, not maintenance staff.

On the regulatory side, OSHA 1910.179 covers overhead and gantry cranes, ASME B30.16 covers overhead underhung and stationary hoists including inspection and control marking, and OSHA 1910.147 requires hazardous energy control — lockout/tagout — before anyone services a control or receiver. Budget for more than the part price: freight on long templates and beams, core drilling, epoxy cure time before load testing, and the labor to functionally test every motion after a control swap.
