What lifting capacities are available?
Three capacity ratings: 250, 500 and 1,000. The rating is carried in the model number — JIB-CBX-25 models are the 250 rating, JIB-CBX-50 the 500, and JIB-CBX-100 the 1,000. Match the rating to your heaviest load plus the weight of the hoist, sling or other rigging you hang from the beam, not just the part being lifted.
What boom lengths can I choose, and does every capacity offer both?
Boom options are an 8 ft I-beam or a 10 ft I-beam, and no, the combinations are not identical. The 8 ft beam is offered in all three ratings — 250, 500 and 1,000. The 10 ft beam is offered in the 250 and 500 ratings only. If you need the 1,000 rating, the 8 ft beam is the option.
What is the difference between an empty base and a concrete-filled base?
An empty base ships without ballast; a filled base arrives already filled with concrete and uses the -BC suffix. Filled costs more — JIB-CBX-25-8-10 is $3,040.93 empty against $3,343.45 for the -BC version. Choosing empty means you supply and place the concrete on site, so factor in that labor and check Vestil's documentation for fill requirements.
Can I order an additional base by itself?
Yes. Four base-only items are listed separately, in 18 in. and 36 in. sizes, each available empty or filled with concrete: $850.57 and $1,092.92 empty, $1,186.57 and $1,523.53 filled. Buyers usually add one so a single crane can be moved between two prepared work positions. The complete crane models already include a base.

When is this not the right crane for the job?
When your load exceeds the 1,000 rating or you need reach beyond a 10 ft I-beam. It is also the wrong pick if you want maximum capacity and maximum reach together, since the 1,000 rating is offered only with the 8 ft beam. For heavier or longer-reach work, look at a fixed or larger-capacity crane.
