FAQ about this model
How much weight can these lever hoists lift?
The line covers a 500 – 5,000 lb capacity range across 7 models. The models listed on this page use Vestil's 0.5K and 1K capacity designations — for example ELH-05-10 (0.5K) and ELH-10-20 (1K). Size the hoist to your heaviest expected load including slings, shackles and any below-hook attachment, not to the typical load.
What lift heights are available?
Lift heights run from 5 ft to 20 ft depending on capacity. The 0.5K models are offered in 5, 10, 15 and 20 ft lifts (ELH-05-5, ELH-05-10, ELH-05-15, ELH-05-20). The 1K models are offered in 10, 15 and 20 ft lifts (ELH-10-10, ELH-10-15, ELH-10-20). Measure your anchor-point-to-hook distance before choosing.
What do these hoists cost, and which model is the entry point?
Pricing runs $186.16 to $272.38 across the seven models. ELH-05-5 is the lowest at $186.16, and ELH-10-20 is the highest at $272.38. Within each capacity, price steps up with lift height — the 0.5K models run $186.16, $203.47, $217.18 and $224.23 for 5, 10, 15 and 20 ft respectively.
How is the hoist operated, and what does the disc brake do?
You operate it by hand with the lever, and the disc brake holds the load when you stop. The brake engages automatically under load rather than relying on operator input, so the load stays put between strokes. A directional selector sets lifting, lowering or free-chain for positioning the hook before the load is picked up.
What maintenance and inspection do lever hoists need?
Inspect before each use and keep the brake area free of oil and grease. Check the load chain for stretch, gouging, twist or corrosion, and check hooks for cracks, spreading or bending. ASME publishes B30.21, the safety standard covering lever hoist use and inspection practice — follow it along with the instructions supplied with the unit.
Where are they made and what warranty is included?
They are made in the USA by Vestil Manufacturing and carry a 1-Year Limited warranty. That covers the seven ELH models on this page. The warranty terms are Vestil's; we do not add or extend coverage. For anything beyond the stated capacity, lift height and warranty, check the manufacturer documentation supplied with the hoist.
