What the TS-850 tire spreader does

A tire spreader holds a dismounted tire open so you can see and reach the inside of the casing. The TS-850 pushes the beads apart with 3,500 lbs of spreading force and holds that position while you read the liner, mark a puncture, or work a patch into place. Spreading is controlled by air control foot pedals, so both hands stay on the tire instead of on a lever. An adjustable light aims into the opened casing, and a work table gives you a place to set patches, cement, and hand tools. It is a stand-alone inspection and repair station — it does not mount, dismount, or balance tires.

Tire and wheel sizes it handles

Rated tire width is 4" to 15", maximum tire diameter is 44", and the wheel size range is 12" to 28". Maximum weight is 80 lbs. Measure the section width and overall diameter of the largest tire you work on and compare against those numbers rather than reading the sidewall size code, which does not give you mounted diameter directly. The 12" to 28" wheel range covers standard passenger wheels through the larger diameters common on late-model trucks and SUVs. Tires outside the width, diameter, or weight limits should not be loaded onto the machine. If most of your work is passenger cars and light trucks, you are inside the range across the board.

Air supply and controls

The TS-850 runs on shop air, with a working air pressure of 100 PSI. Spreading is triggered by air control foot pedals rather than a hand lever, which keeps both hands free while the arms open and hold the casing. The adjustable light is aimed into the opened tire so you can read the liner for nail holes, cuts, and separation without holding a drop light. A work table is part of the unit, giving you a spot for patches, cement, buffing tools, and the marker or awl used to flag a puncture from the inside. Confirm your compressor and air line can hold 100 PSI at the machine before you put it into service.

Warranty

Triumph Limited Warranty. Triumph covers parts and product defects for one (1) year; labor is not included. Hydraulic cylinders carry a 30-day full warranty, after which a seal kit is supplied for cylinder service. Rubber lifting pads are not covered. The warranty applies to the original purchaser with proof of purchase.
