Product Overview
In short
The Triumph AC-80G is an 80 gallon ASME-certified shop air compressor powered by a 4.0 HP, 220 volt motor. It is rated at 17.7 CFM with a maximum working pressure of 8 Bar / 116 PSI.

What the AC-80G is built to do

The AC-80G pairs an 80 gallon ASME-certified tank with a 4.0 HP motor rated at 3 KW and 220 volt supply. Output is 17.7 CFM, and maximum working pressure is 8 Bar / 116 PSI. That combination puts it in the range of a general-purpose shop compressor: air tools, blow guns, tire work, and intermittent spray work where the 80 gallon reserve carries you between pump cycles. It is not a 175 PSI industrial unit, so tools that specify pressures above 116 PSI are outside what this machine supplies. Check the CFM and PSI requirement stamped on your most demanding tool first, then compare it against the 17.7 CFM and 116 PSI figures above.

Tank size, ASME certification and pressure

The tank holds 80 gallons and is ASME certified, meaning it was built and inspected to the American Society of Mechanical Engineers pressure vessel standard rather than to an unverified factory spec. Many jurisdictions, commercial insurers and inspected shop environments require an ASME-stamped tank, so this matters if you run a licensed business rather than a home garage. Maximum working pressure is 8 Bar / 116 PSI. An 80 gallon reserve at that pressure means the motor cycles less often during continuous work such as running an impact gun through a wheel set or feeding a sander, which reduces duty on the pump compared to a small portable tank doing the same job.

Power and electrical requirements

The AC-80G runs on 220 volt power and draws 3 KW, with the motor rated at 4.0 HP. This is not a unit you plug into a standard household 110 volt outlet. Plan on a dedicated 220 volt circuit sized and installed by a licensed electrician to your local code, using the compressor's data plate as the authority for breaker and wire sizing. The listing does not state phase, plug type, breaker rating or amp draw, so confirm those against the unit's own nameplate and your panel capacity before purchase. If your shop has no 220 volt service in place, budget for that electrical work separately, because it is often the largest hidden cost of moving up to an 80 gallon compressor.

Buying and what is confirmed

The AC-80G is listed at $1,595 shipped to your address. The specifications confirmed for this unit are the 80 gallon ASME-certified tank, 8 Bar / 116 PSI maximum working pressure, 17.7 CFM, 4.0 HP, 3 KW and 220 volt supply. Details that are commonly asked about but not stated for this model include tank orientation, pump configuration, footprint and shipping weight, drain type, and included accessories such as hoses, regulators or filters. Rather than guess at those, ask before you order, especially if you are planning around a specific floor space or need the compressor to arrive ready to connect. Freight of a tank this size usually requires curbside delivery and help unloading.

Key features

  • 80 gallon ASME-certified tank — built to the ASME pressure vessel standard, which inspected commercial shops and many insurers require
  • 17.7 CFM air delivery — enough reserve and flow for common shop air tools rather than occasional trim-nailer use
  • 8 Bar / 116 PSI max working pressure — match this against the pressure rating of your most demanding tool
  • 4.0 HP motor — the driving power behind the rated output
  • 3 KW power draw — the figure to give your electrician when sizing the circuit
  • 220 volt operation — a dedicated 220 volt circuit is required; this is not a 110 volt plug-in unit
  • $1,595 shipped to your address — the listed price includes shipping

FAQ about this model

What voltage does the Triumph AC-80G need?
It runs on 220 volt power and draws 3 KW. A standard 110 volt household outlet will not run this compressor.

How much air does the AC-80G deliver?
It is rated at 17.7 CFM. Compare that against the CFM requirement of the air tool you run most, not against the tank size.

What is the maximum pressure of the AC-80G?
Maximum working pressure is 8 Bar / 116 PSI. Tools or processes that require more than 116 PSI are outside this machine's range.

Is the tank ASME certified?
Yes. The 80 gallon tank is ASME certified, which is often required for compressors used in licensed commercial shops.

How big is the motor?
The motor is rated at 4.0 HP and 3 KW.

Do I need an electrician to install it?
Plan on one. A 220 volt, 3 KW load should be on a dedicated circuit sized and wired to local code, using the unit's data plate for breaker and wire sizing.

Is shipping included in the price?
The listed price of $1,595 is shipped to your address. Delivery timing, appointment options and unloading assistance are not specified, so confirm those when you order.

What are the compressor's dimensions and shipping weight?
Footprint, height and shipping weight are not published for this model. Contact us before ordering if you are planning around a specific floor space or doorway.

Does it come with a hose, regulator or filter?
Included accessories are not listed for the AC-80G. Assume you will need to source hose, fittings and any filtration or drying separately unless confirmed otherwise.
