FAQ about this model
How much concrete does the Model 1575 hold?
It holds 3/4 cubic yard. The hopper weighs 770 lbs empty, so the forklift has to handle that plus the weight of a full load, carried at the extended load center the attachment creates. OSHA requires powered industrial trucks to be rated for use with attachments, so check the truck's capacity plate before the first pour.
How does the hopper mount to a forklift?
It uses a universal slip-on fork design, so the pockets slide over the forks already on your truck with no permanent modification. The body is heavy gauge all welded steel. Confirm your fork dimensions against the pocket openings before ordering, since the product data does not list a fork size range.
How is the concrete discharged, and can the flow be controlled?
Discharge is through a manual gate with an adjustable multi-position handle. The operator sets the handle to the position that gives the pour rate they want, instead of choosing only fully open or fully closed. Because the gate is manual, someone works at the hopper while the forklift holds it in position over the form.
How far does the chute reach and swing?
The chute is 30 inches long and swings 40 degrees total, 20 degrees to each side of center. That lets the operator aim the pour across a form without repositioning the forklift for small adjustments. For a target outside that arc, or past the 30-inch reach, the truck has to be moved.
Does it require hydraulic or electrical connections?
No, there is nothing to hook up. The gate is operated by hand with the multi-position handle, and the product data lists no hydraulic or electrical connection. The forklift supplies lifting and positioning only; opening, metering and closing the gate are done by the operator at the hopper.
Who is this hopper a good fit for, and who should look elsewhere?
It fits contractors placing up to 3/4 cubic yard per lift with a forklift already on site, such as footings, small slabs, columns and forms a truck chute cannot reach. It is a poor fit for crews without a forklift rated for the loaded weight, for continuous high-volume pours needing constant refills, or where the pour point sits beyond the 30-inch chute.
