What Star Industries Builds, and What We Stock

Star Industries makes attachments and jobsite equipment for four carrier types: forklifts, telehandlers, skid-steer loaders and cranes. Our catalog of 58 active items covers concrete and waste hoppers, forklift and telehandler booms, buckets and grapples, below-the-hook rigging, work platforms, and storage racks for forks, buckets and augers. Two items are classified as self-dump hoppers. Pricing across the range runs from $289 to $12,923. Because we are an authorized dealer, units are supplied new with factory warranty and replacement parts are ordered through the manufacturer rather than sourced aftermarket. What follows is how the range is organized and how buyers typically choose between families.

The Range, Family by Family

Concrete and waste hoppers

Three side-chute placement sizes are listed: 1.05 cy, the 1520 at 1.31 cy, and the 1530 at 1.96 cy. Rated loads are 5,732 lbs for the 1520 and 8,598 lbs for the 1530. The 1520 stands 51 inches tall by 49 inches wide with a lever-operated discharge gate on a spring system and a detachable side chute with center discharge; the 1530 is a low-profile design at 71 by 49 inches. Both are built from heavy-duty steel to meet the safety standards of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). The trash and waste hoppers, including the self-dumping forklift versions, are separate products for debris rather than concrete.

Forklift and telehandler attachments

This is the widest family. Booms come in two forms: jib booms in fixed-length and telescopic versions for hook work, and truss booms in wide-back and low-profile versions for setting trusses and long loads. Buckets include heavy-duty forklift and telehandler models plus a self-dump forklift bucket. Work platforms are offered in safety and industrial versions. The 1390B Lift-N-Tow is rated at 4,000 lbs lift and 10,000 lbs towing, and the Load-N-Tow adds a loading platform to the same idea.

Skid-steer attachments

The skid-steer line is defined by hydraulic demand. The 195-72 brush cutter cuts 72 inches wide, takes material up to 6 inches, runs on 16-26 GPM, and uses three bi-directional AR400 blades on a Parker motor and 100-hp gearbox at 994 lbs. The 131-48 trencher digs to 48 inches with a 15-inch auger, needs 20-30 GPM, weighs 900 lbs, and comes in combo, dirt, and rock and frost chain versions. The 130-72 power rake is a 72-inch, 450 lb carbide-tooth floating unit. Non-hydraulic tools include the 175DG-72 demolition-grade grapple bucket, root grapple, skeleton bucket, extreme-duty bucket, slab eater and a universal grapple adapter.

Rigging, handlers and racks

The 1155 wire mesh handlers carry 6,500-7,000 lbs, run 13 feet long at 1,025 lbs net, take bundles up to 8 by 20 feet, and are offered with 24, 36 or 39-inch on-center fork pockets. Spreader bars include the adjustable 1160B on 39-inch centers plus a heavy-duty extendable version. Scaffold pallets, paver breaking pallets, fork storage racks, bucket racks and auger racks round out the yard-side items at the lower end of the price span.

Matching a Model to Your Carrier

Three checks decide most orders. First, hydraulic flow: if your loader delivers under 16 GPM, the 195-72 cutter is out, and under 20 GPM rules out the 131-48 trencher. Second, fork pockets and carriage width: the 1155 handlers need a 32, 44 or 48-inch or wider carriage matched to the pocket spacing you order, and spreader bars are specified the same way. Third, attachment point: the 1530 hopper is rated for cranes, forklifts and excavators, but Star supplies fork pockets only on the 1510 — no forklift adapter is available for the 1530, so plan on crane or excavator handling for that size. Weight matters too; at 994 and 900 lbs, the cutter and trencher assume a loader with the rated operating capacity to carry them.

Duty Grades and Site Constraints

Star separates duty levels within families rather than across them, and the model names say so: demolition grade on the 175DG-72 grapple, extreme duty on the skid-steer bucket, heavy duty on the forklift and telehandler buckets, the skeleton bucket and the extendable spreader bar. If you are handling rebar, broken slab or demolition debris, buy into those grades rather than the standard version. Height is the other constraint. The 1520 at 51 inches and the low-profile 1530 exist because pour clearance under a crane hook or inside a formwork bay is often the limiting dimension, not capacity. Truss booms follow the same logic with a low-profile option.

Parts, Warranty and Freight

As an authorized Star Industries dealer, we sell new units covered by the manufacturer warranty and order replacement parts — chains, blades, teeth, gate hardware — through Star rather than substituting equivalents. That matters most on the wear items: trencher chains are sold as distinct combo, dirt, and rock and frost configurations, and the brush cutter uses specific AR400 blade sets. On shipping, most of this catalog is heavy freight, not parcel; several listed items run 450 to 1,025 lbs, and hoppers ship as bulky steel weldments.
