Parts & Options

Parts and options are the factory add-ons that adapt a base machine to your dock, your aisle and your product. This collection carries 50 active Vestil parts and options priced from $114 to $9,902, including dock leveler curb angle sets in eight sizes from 6x5 to 7x10, hydraulic box dumper gates for 36, 48 and 60 dump heights, scale and digital printer options, 24V power and powered lift upgrades, pneumatic tire and stationary leg conversions, and pole attachments for manual stackers. Most are model-specific, so confirm fit against your unit's model and serial number before ordering.

What the Vestil parts and options collection covers

This is an options catalog, not a machine catalog. Every item here is built to be added to a Vestil base unit — a dock leveler, a hydraulic box dumper, a stretch wrap machine, a lift table, a manual stacker or a lift truck — and most are not usable on their own. The 50 active listings span $114 to $9,902, and several titles repeat because the same option, such as the four-leg stationary leg kit or the power lift option with hand control, is engineered separately for different base models. That is the thing to get right when ordering: options are matched to a model, not to a category.

Approval matters as much as fit. OSHA 1910.178(a)(4) states that modifications and additions which affect capacity and safe operation shall not be performed without the manufacturer's prior written approval, and that capacity, operation and maintenance instruction plates, tags or decals shall be changed accordingly. ANSI/ITSDF B56.1, the safety standard for low lift and high lift industrial trucks, carries the same requirement. Ordering the factory option built for your model is the clean way to satisfy it.

Dock leveler options: curb angle sets, curb height, paint and lighting

Curb angle sets are the structural steel angles that form and protect the edges of a leveler pit and give the leveler frame something to sit against. This collection lists eight sizes — 6x5, 6x6, 6x8, 6x10, 7x5, 7x6, 7x8 and 7x10 — corresponding to the nominal width and length of the leveler they frame. Treat them as civil work rather than as an accessory: they are set before the concrete is poured, and retrofitting angles into a finished pit means breaking out and repouring. Get the pit drawing and the angle set specified in the same conversation.

The 6In curb height option, the yellow curb paint option and the loading light fan option all address the working face of the dock. Curb height changes the approach geometry between trailer bed and dock floor; paint is about making the edge visible to a driver working in a dark trailer; the light and fan combination addresses visibility and air movement inside the trailer itself. OSHA 1910.26 requires that dockboards be capable of supporting the maximum intended load, be secured in position, and, unless the design or condition makes it unnecessary, have means to prevent transfer vehicles from running off the edge. OSHA 1910.178(k)(1) requires that the brakes of highway trucks be set and wheel chocks placed under the rear wheels before powered industrial trucks board them.

Power, lift and mobility options

A large share of this collection converts manual actuation to powered, or changes how a unit moves. The 24V power option and the rotation option for HDC models with 24V DC power replace hand effort with a battery circuit. The power lift option with hand control, the powered lift option with solid platform and the removable platform hand pump stack option do the same job on lift and stacking equipment. Decide by duty cycle rather than by price: a few lifts per shift rarely justifies the conversion, while repeated cycling all day usually does, both for throughput and for operator strain.

Battery-powered options bring a charging area with them, and that area has rules. OSHA 1910.178(g) requires facilities for flushing and neutralizing spilled electrolyte, fire protection, protection of charging apparatus from damage by trucks, and adequate ventilation for dispersal of fumes from gassing batteries. NFPA 505 covers fire safety requirements and the type designations for powered industrial trucks used where hazardous atmospheres may be present; review it before putting an electric option into a classified area.

Mobility options answer a different pair of questions: does the unit need to travel, and does it need to stay put under load? The pneumatic tire option suits rough exterior yards, expansion joints and dock plates, while harder tread rolls with less effort on smooth interior concrete. The manual semi-portability option allows occasional relocation without turning the unit into a full mobile cart. The lift truck option with manual floor lock holds position while a load is transferred on or off. The four-leg stationary leg options, offered in both factory and field install versions, remove mobility entirely in exchange for a fixed, stable work height. The anti-skid steel treadplate option matters anywhere operators step onto the deck, and the Lift Master fork pocket option at 8.25x4.25 determines whether a truck can pick the unit at all.

Box dumper gates, rotation and machine guarding

The hydraulic box dumper gate options are offered for 36, 48 and 60 dump heights and retain loose product and packaging as the container rotates through the dump. Match the gate to the dumper's dump height rather than picking the largest available. The HBD safety light curtain option adds presence sensing to the dump zone. OSHA 1910.212(a)(1) requires one or more methods of machine guarding to protect operators from hazards such as point of operation, ingoing nip points and rotating parts. ANSI B11.19 sets performance requirements for safeguarding devices, including presence-sensing devices and the safe distance at which they must be positioned so that motion stops before an operator can reach the hazard. A light curtain is a safeguarding device, not a universal replacement for a physical guard.

Scale and printer options for stretch wrap machines

The stretch wrap machine scale option weighs the load on the turntable while it wraps, and the scale option with digital printer adds a printed record at the machine. The real gain is one fewer material move, because the pallet does not travel to a floor scale after wrapping. Before assuming the weight can be used commercially, note that NIST Handbook 44 sets the specifications, tolerances and requirements for commercial weighing devices in the US, and devices used to buy or sell by weight generally must be a type-approved model, installed and sealed under your state weights and measures program. Our listing does not state a legal-for-trade classification, so ask first if you invoice customers by weight.

How to choose and order the right option

Option familyWhat it changesConfirm before ordering
Curb angle sets, curb height, paint, light and fanPit construction and the working face of the dockLeveler nominal size, pit drawing, whether concrete is already poured
24V power, rotation, power lift, hand control, solid platformManual actuation becomes poweredBase model and serial, charging area, cycles per shift
Pneumatic tire, semi-portability, floor lock, stationary legsWhether the unit travels and how it holds positionFloor surface, travel distance, field versus factory install
Box dumper gates and light curtainLoad retention and operator guardingDump height on the data plate, control interface, safety review
Scale and digital printerWeight capture and printed recordsWhether you bill by weight and your state requirements

Two habits prevent most ordering mistakes. First, work from the base unit's data plate, not from a description, because compatibility is defined at the model level and near-identical machines take different kits. Second, settle factory versus field install before the order is placed. Factory install removes fit-up labor and fit risk but cannot be added after the machine is built, while field install is the only route for equipment already in service — and that work falls under OSHA 1910.147 lockout/tagout.
