FAQ about this model
What is the rated capacity, and how is it measured?
The EP25E is rated at 5,500 lbs at a 24 in load center. That figure assumes an evenly distributed load centered 24 inches out along the forks; loads that concentrate weight farther forward or off to one side effectively reduce what the truck can carry. Lifting height is 7.9 in from a lowered fork height of 3.33 in.
What are the fork dimensions, and will they fit my pallets?
The forks are 48 in long, 6 in wide and 2 in thick, with an outside fork spread of 27 in and a lowered height of 3.33 in. Compare those figures to your pallet's entry openings and bottom-board clearance before ordering. The fixed spread is not adjustable, so pallets with narrower or wider openings will not accept the forks.
What power and charging does it need?
It runs on a 24 V / 240 Ah battery, with a 24 V / 30 A charger listed in the specifications. The drive motor is 1.3 kW and the lift motor is 0.8 kW, both fed from that battery, and the drive uses AC motor speed control. Runtime per charge and charging duration are not part of the published specifications for this model.
How much floor space does it need to operate?
Overall length is 71.2 in and overall width is 27.5 in, on a 53 in wheel base, with a 60 in turning radius. Because it is walk-behind with tiller control, plan for operator walking space behind the truck in addition to those dimensions. Service weight with battery is 1,100 lbs, which matters for mezzanines, dock plates and lifts.
Can it handle ramps and inclines?
Maximum gradient performance is 8% laden and 15% unladen. Anything steeper than 8% with a load on the forks is outside the truck's published capability. Braking is electromagnetic, and lowering speed is 1.5 in/s both laden and unladen. Lifting speed is 0.8 in/s laden and 1.1 in/s unladen.
Who is this truck for, and who should look at something else?
It suits warehouses, distribution centers and loading docks moving heavy pallets at floor level throughout the day. With a maximum lift of 7.9 in, it transports pallets but does not stack or place loads into racking, so operations needing vertical storage need a different machine. It is walk-behind only, with a noise level of 68 dB(A) at the operator position. As a powered industrial truck, operator training under OSHA rules applies.
