How to Choose an Electric Pallet Jack

Start with the heaviest load you move, not the average one, and count the weight of the pallet too. If your heaviest loads come close to 4,000 lbs, a 4,400 lb or 5,500 lbs model gives you some margin. Then work through these points:

• Operator style. A walkie electric pallet jack suits short runs, stock rooms and loading trailers. Stand-on rider models such as the EKKO EP30A or GNT G66P-Li suit long, repeated runs across a big floor or dock.
• Aisles and doors. Measure your narrowest aisle, doorway and elevator. Compare those measurements with the overall width, overall length and turning radius on each product page.
• Pallets. Check the entry height of your pallets against the lowered fork height, and the pallet depth against the fork length.
• Floors and ramps. Read the gradeability spec. Some riders list operation on slopes as prohibited.
• Shift length. Longer shifts need a bigger battery (higher Ah) or a removable battery you can swap.

If your loads run above 5,500 lbs, look at the 6,600 lbs riders. That is the top capacity in this range, so contact us before ordering if you need more.

Sizes and Dimensions to Check

On most walkie models, the forks measure 27 in across the outside, and fork length is 45 in or 48 in depending on the model. For narrower pallets and skids, Ballymore offers 21 in wide fork versions (BALLYPAL33N-21 and BALLYPAL45N-21). The Ballymore BALLYPAL40L goes the other way with 29 in wide forks. Lowered fork height ranges from 2.95 in to 3.35 in, so measure the opening on your lowest pallets. Turning radius runs from 55 in on the EKKO EP18Li and EP20LI to 60 in on the EP20E and EP25E. Riders need more room: the EKKO EPC30A is 99.09 in long and the EP30A is 88.11 in long.

Batteries, Motors and Controls

Most models here run on lithium. The EKKO EP18Li and EP20LI use LiFePO4 packs rated 24V/40Ah and 24V/60Ah. The EP20E-Li carries 24V, 100Ah and the EP25E-Li carries 24V, 150Ah, which gives you more runtime per charge. Ballymore BALLYPAL-N trucks come in 24V and 48V lithium versions. The GNT GP-CLI uses a removable 48V lithium battery, and the Ballymore BALLYPAL40L pairs a 24V / 160 Ah battery with a built-in charger.

Drive motors are AC on the EKKO EP20E-Li and EP25E-Li and on the GNT GE-Li and G66P-Li. They are DC on the EKKO EP18Li and EP20LI. As a rule, AC drives give smoother speed control and need less upkeep. Other features to compare include electromagnetic brakes on EKKO EP walkies, smart pin code access and on-board diagnostic code display on Ballymore BALLYPAL-N models, and emergency reverse, emergency stop and turtle speed on the EKKO EP30A. Care and Daily Checks

• Before each shift, test the horn, the brake and the emergency reverse (belly button) switch.
• Clear stretch wrap and banding out of the drive wheel and load rollers, and look for flat spots on the polyurethane wheels.
• Check the forks for cracks or bending and the hydraulics for leaks.
• Charge in a dry, ventilated spot and follow the manufacturer's charging instructions. Don't leave a lithium pack fully drained in storage.
• Keep to the listed operating range. The EKKO EP30A, for example, is rated for +41°F to +104°F.

Shipping, Delivery and Returns

• Where we ship: within the USA only. Rates for most items are calculated at checkout. For oversized items, we may send a separate shipping quote, and you can accept it or cancel for a full refund before dispatch.
• Timing: most orders take 1-2 business days to process, and standard transit typically takes 1-5 business days. Oversized or crated equipment can take longer. All dates are estimates.
• Unloading: freight comes as tailgate delivery, so you need a forklift, loading dock or manpower to unload it. Your address must be reachable by a 53’ freight trailer.
• Inspection: write "DAMAGED" on the Bill of Lading before signing if you see any damage, and report concealed damage within 24 hours.
• Returns: accepted within 60 days of delivery for unused items in their original packaging, with an RA number from info@vovlift.com. You pay return shipping, and a 30% restocking fee applies. Refunds take 5-15 business days to process.
