FAQ about this model
What slab thickness can the Multi Slab Safeguard Sling grip?
Grip range depends on the model you order. The AMSS85 grips material from 15mm to 85mm, and the AMSS160 grips 25mm to 160mm. Measure your thinnest and thickest material before ordering, since anything outside the stated range will not clamp correctly. Both models are intended for multi-slab stone transport.
Should I order the AMSS85 or the AMSS160?
Choose by the thickness you handle most often. The AMSS85 covers 15mm to 85mm, which suits thinner slab work. The AMSS160 covers 25mm to 160mm, so it takes thicker material and taller stacks, but it will not grip anything below 25mm. If you regularly handle thin stone, the AMSS85 is the one that fits.
Will the clamp scratch polished stone?
The contact surfaces are rubber-padded clamp plates, designed to prevent scratches and damage to the material, so the sling can be used on finished and polished faces. Keep the pads clean before each lift, since trapped grit is the usual cause of marking. Check the pads regularly and replace them once they are worn or torn.
Does it need power, and how is it adjusted?
No power supply is needed. Adjustment is manual: the operator sets the clamp to the slab thickness by hand, so there is no hydraulic line to plumb, no electrical connection, and no battery to charge between lifts. That keeps setup short and makes the sling easy to move between yards, saw bays and loading areas.
Will it work with the lifter I already have?
It is built for use with standard lifter equipment and for simple integration, rather than being tied to one dedicated machine. We do not publish a compatibility list for specific lifters, so check the attachment point on your own equipment and confirm that the lifter's rated capacity covers the slabs you intend to move.
Can it move more than one slab at a time?
Yes. The sling is designed for simultaneous movement of multiple stone slabs, which cuts the number of trips between rack, saw and truck. The stack you lift has to sit within the grip range of your model, so measure the assembled pack rather than a single slab when planning a multi-slab lift.
