The IMER 1105856 WORKMAN 350 Towable 12 CF Mixer is a heavy-duty mixer made for heavy-duty jobsites. It has a 12 cu. ft. steel drum and can be used to mix both wet and dry mixes of concrete, mortar and grout. The WORKMAN 350 Towable Mixer has no engine which gives you the ability to attach your own power source that will meet your operational requirements. The WORKMAN 350 Towable Mixer also has a frame that makes it easy to move around from one jobsite to another. The WORKMAN 350 Towable Mixer has a sturdy steel drum and a durable frame so it should last a long time.

Does this mixer come with an engine or motor?

No. The WORKMAN 350 ships as a towable frame and drum only, with no engine installed — you supply and fit the power unit yourself. It is rated for a 1.5hp 110v/220v electric motor, or gas options of a 5.5hp Honda or 6hp Subaru. Budget for that motor separately when comparing this against ready-to-run mixers.

What is the difference between the 12 cubic foot drum capacity and the 9.5 cubic foot batch output?

The 12 cubic feet is total drum volume, while 9.5 cubic feet is the usable batch you can actually mix and discharge. Size your pours against the 9.5 figure. The remaining space is head room that lets material tumble and fold inside the drum instead of spilling over the lip while the drum turns.

Should I fit the electric or the gas motor option?

Choose electric if you have power at the work area. The 1.5hp rating covers both 110v and 220v, which suits shop work and indoor sites. Choose gas — the 5.5hp Honda or 6hp Subaru option — where no supply is available. Confirm which voltage you can actually provide before you buy a motor to match this frame.

How much does it weigh and how does it move around a site?

It weighs 650 lbs and rolls on 20 inch rubber tires fitted to a towable frame. That figure is the mixer empty, so expect substantially more once the drum is loaded. Tires of that size cope with rutted ground and site debris better than small casters. Match your tow vehicle and hitch to the loaded weight, not the 650 lbs.

What is the drum made of, and what maintenance does it need?

The drum is heavy-duty steel. As with any steel mixing drum, wash it out before material sets — hardened build-up eats into the 9.5 cubic foot batch output and adds dead weight to a mixer that already starts at 650 lbs. Otherwise keep the tires inflated and check the frame and running gear. Motor servicing follows whichever unit you fit.

Who is this mixer right for, and who should look at something else?

It suits contractors mixing concrete, mortar or stucco in batches up to 9.5 cubic feet who tow between sites and want to specify their own power unit. Look elsewhere if you need a mixer that runs straight out of the crate, or if your typical pour exceeds 9.5 cubic feet and you would rather not run multiple batches.
