FAQ about this model
How wide is this grapple, and can I get a different size?
The standard working width is 54 inches, and 72-inch, 78-inch and 84-inch versions are also available, with custom sizes offered. Choose the width against the material you handle and the space you work in: narrower widths suit tight lots and smaller machines, while wider ones cover more ground per pass on open clearing work.
How much grappling force does it have?
It develops 9,500 lbs of grappling force through 2-inch by 10-inch hydraulic cylinders. That figure is clamping force at the tines, not a lift rating. What you can actually pick up and carry is limited by your skid steer's rated operating capacity and the weight of the attachment itself, so size the load against the machine.
Will it fit my skid steer?
It mounts with a universal skid steer quick-attach system, so it fits machines with a standard universal quick-attach plate. Because the grapple is cylinder-operated, the loader also needs working auxiliary hydraulics plumbed to the front of the arms. Check both the coupler style and the auxiliary circuit on your machine before ordering; specific machine models are not listed here.
How is it built, and what maintenance does it need?
The tines are 1.5-inch steel on a heavy gauge steel frame, and the pivot points run on 1.25-inch greasable pins. Maintenance is mostly greasing those pins on a regular schedule and checking the cylinders, hoses and fittings for leaks or damage. The open head design lets dirt and small debris fall through rather than packing into the frame.
What kind of work is this grapple suited to, and what is it not for?
It is built for land clearing, root and brush removal, storm cleanup and handling irregular debris that needs to be gripped, pulled and carried. The vertical tine arrangement and open head let you pull roots free and shake soil loose as you lift. It is not a bucket, so loose material such as sand, gravel or soil will fall through.
