FAQ about this model
What is the difference between drum capacity and batch output?
The drum holds 22 cu. ft. total, but the usable batch output is 16 cu. ft. per mix cycle. The difference accounts for the space needed to properly turn and blend material without spilling over the sides. Plan your batch sizes around the 16 cu. ft. figure, not the full drum size.
What electrical setup does this mixer need?
It runs on a 7.5 HP electric motor requiring 440V, 3-Phase power. This is not a standard single-phase outlet setup, so confirm your job site or shop has 440V 3-phase service available before ordering. If you only have single-phase power, this unit will not run without a phase converter or different electrical service.
How is the mixer moved around a site?
It sits on 22-inch pneumatic tires with torsion bar suspension, which lets it roll over uneven ground and absorb some of the shock from rough surfaces. At 1,700 lbs., it's still heavy enough that moving it typically requires a vehicle hitch or equipment mover rather than pushing it by hand over long distances.
How does this mixer actually blend material?
It uses a vertical shaft with vertically rotating paddles, rather than a tumbling drum design. The paddles turn on a vertical axis to fold and mix material inside the stationary drum. This configuration is common for mixes needing consistent, thorough blending in a single load rather than continuous rotation.
How much does the unit weigh, and what does that mean for transport?
The mixer weighs 1,700 lbs. That's heavy enough to require a trailer or flatbed with adequate weight capacity for transport, plus equipment (like a forklift or loading ramp) to load and unload it at the job site. Factor this weight into any towing vehicle or lift capacity you're planning to use.
