FAQ about this model
How much can the EK14-138 lift, and how high?
It handles 3300 lb to a maximum lift height of 138 in. That capacity applies at the rated load center given in the specifications, so check where your load's center of gravity actually sits before ordering. Lift speed is 4 in/s laden and 5.5 in/s unladen; lowering speed is 5.3 in/s laden and 4.7 in/s unladen.
Will it fit through my doorways and under my ceiling?
Lowered mast height is 90 in and overall width is 39 in, so those are the numbers to check against doorways and aisle openings. At full lift the mast extends to 155 in, which is what to measure against ceilings, sprinkler heads, lights and trailer roofs. Turning radius is 62 in and the wheel base is 47 in.
What are the fork dimensions, and how far do they adjust?
Forks are 37 in long, 4 in wide and 1.4 in thick, and they adjust from 8.7 in to 28 in apart. Check that range against the stringer or block spacing on your own pallets and skids. Free lifting height is 4 in, so the mast starts extending almost immediately as you begin a lift.
How is it powered and charged?
It runs on a 24V/210Ah side-mounted battery, paired with a 24V/30A charger. The drive motor is AC 24V/2500W, the hydraulic lift motor is 24V/3000W, and steering uses a 24V/200W EPS motor. Run time between charges is not a fixed figure — it depends on how often you lift, how heavy the loads are, and travel distance.
What does counterbalanced mean here, and who is it for?
Counterbalanced means there are no straddle support legs, so the forks can approach closed-bottom pallets, stillages, containers and racking directly without legs getting in the way. It is intended for warehouses, stockrooms and shipping and receiving areas. It is a walk-behind (walkie) unit, so there is no rider platform — the operator walks alongside for the whole cycle.
How much does the unit itself weigh, and what should I plan for?
Service weight is 3880 lb, which is on top of the 3300 lb load it can carry, so plan floor slabs, mezzanines, elevators and dock plates around the combined weight. The frame is heavy-duty industrial steel. Safety features include an emergency stop, safety switch controls and stability protection. OSHA requires operator training for powered industrial trucks before use.
