What size excavator does the HoeMate rake fit?
It covers ten excavator weight classes, from 1–3 ton machines up to 30–40 ton machines, and machine weight compatibility runs up to 80,000 lbs. Fitment is by listed make and model on the Amulet fitment chart, so check your excavator against that chart before ordering to confirm the correct class and mount.
How does it attach to the machine?
It is a pin-on bucket replacement, mounting on the same pins in place of your bucket. Four mount options are available: a blank weld-on plate only, a wedge-style coupler, a pin-on / pin-grabber-style coupler, and a Wain-Roy / cross-pin-style coupler. Which one you need depends on the coupler already fitted to your excavator.
What is the difference between the 3-tine, 4-tine and 5-tine models?
The rake comes in 3-tine, 4-tine and 5-tine models, which combine with the mount options to give 17 total configurations. The right combination is determined by your machine rather than by preference, so use the Amulet fitment chart to match model and mount to your excavator's make, model and weight class.
What is it made of, and what kind of work is it built for?
It is fabricated from T-1 and AR400 steel and rated for severe-duty application. The tines are serrated, which increases grasping ability on the material being moved. The design has no moving parts, so there are no cylinders or pivots to fail under load. It is 100% USA made by Amulet Manufacturing.
Does it need hydraulics or any machine power?
No. Because the design has no moving parts, the rake works entirely through the excavator's existing stick and boom movement. That means no auxiliary circuit, no plumbing and no controls to add in the cab, which also makes it simple to move between machines within the same weight class and mount type.
What maintenance does it require, and is it covered by a warranty?
Maintenance is minimal, since there are no moving parts to grease or adjust. Standard practice is to inspect the tines, mount and pins for wear or cracking before use and keep pins and coupler locks secure. The rake carries a 2-year warranty. Pricing starts at $1,255 and varies by configuration.
