Other warehouse equipment covers the machines that keep a facility moving but do not fit the forklift or racking aisle: cardboard balers, pallet inverters, stretch wrap machines, powered turntables, roll transporters, trailer movers, expandable roller conveyors, crane and platform scales, and dock barricades. Every item in this collection is built by Vestil in the USA and carries a 1-Year Limited warranty, with prices starting at $105 for small shop items and running to five figures for powered units such as the CBB-3000-37 baler at $18,464.34. Filter by function first, then match capacity, power source and footprint to your dock and aisles.

This category collects the material handling equipment that sits between the receiving door and the pick face without being a truck, a rack or a lift. In practice that means waste and packaging handling (cardboard balers, hydraulic pail crushers, stretch wrap machines and scale options), load manipulation (portable pallet inverters, powered turntables, thin spins, air hydraulic post tables, hydraulic box dumper gates), transport (roll lifters and transporters, gas powered trailer movers, LP tank trucks, fork mounted dumpster movers, battery transfer platforms), throughput aids (fixed and expandable roller conveyors, reel and pail dispensers), weighing (crane scales, U shaped platform scales), and site infrastructure (dock barricades, infrared heaters, smoking shelters, safety light curtain options). Because the range is this broad, the buying decision starts with the task and the load, not with the product name.
Begin with the load and the motion it has to make. If the job is transferring a load off a damaged, wet or non-conforming pallet onto a clean one, a pallet inverter does in a single cycle what a crew otherwise does by hand. Our portable pallet inverters are rated at 3,000 lb across three models, including the low profile PI-P-3000-3254 and a version with a 32 to 76 in fork opening. If the job is only rotating a load in place for wrapping, labeling or assembly work, a powered turntable or thin spin is the far cheaper answer and should be compared directly.
Rolled goods are their own problem. Paper, film, carpet and wire reels have no pallet to get under, so roll lifters and transporters grip the core or the circumference instead; the HYD-ROLL-47-DC handles 47 in rolls and lifts on 12 V DC power. Waste handling follows a different payback logic again: a baler earns back through reduced hauling and material rebates rather than labor alone, so size it to the volume you actually generate per week, not to peak season.
Power source usually narrows the field faster than capacity does. Gas engines belong outdoors and in yards, which is why the PTM-GPT gas powered trailer mover is rated for 12,000 lb of trailer moving rather than indoor dock work; running combustion equipment inside raises ventilation obligations that a battery unit avoids entirely. DC powered equipment such as the 12 V roll transporter runs anywhere but needs a charging point and a battery replacement line in your maintenance budget. Air hydraulic post tables need a compressed air drop within reach of where the work actually happens, which is easy to overlook when the quote is approved by someone who has not walked the floor.
Then check the site itself: door and aisle widths, floor condition and slope, ceiling height above a raised table or dumper, and whether the equipment has to cross a dock plate. Duty cycle matters as much as capacity. A machine cycled a few times a shift and one cycled continuously wear at completely different rates, and the second case is where hydraulic maintenance, seal replacement and spare parts availability start to dominate cost of ownership.
Several items here interact directly with regulated equipment. If you mount a fork mounted dumpster mover or run a box dumper with a forklift, OSHA 1910.178 governs the powered industrial truck involved, and OSHA 1910.178(l) requires documented operator training and evaluation. ANSI/ITSDF B56.1 covers powered industrial truck safety practice, including the point that an attachment changes the truck rating and the capacity plate has to reflect it. For general storage and housekeeping around this equipment, OSHA 1910.176 addresses keeping aisles and passageways clear and in good repair, which is the practical argument for dock barricades and defined staging zones.
Servicing hydraulic equipment falls under OSHA 1910.147, the lockout/tagout standard, whenever stored energy could release during maintenance. ANSI B11.19 covers the performance of safeguarding devices such as light curtains used to protect machine access points. For weighing, NIST Handbook 44 sets the requirements a device must meet to be used in commercial transactions, so ask before assuming a scale is legal for trade. If a crane scale sits in the load path of a lift, ASME B30.20 is the reference for below-the-hook lifting devices. LP tank handling and storage is addressed by NFPA 58, the Liquefied Petroleum Gas Code, which is worth reading before you decide where an LP tank truck gets parked.
The most frequent error is specifying capacity against an average load instead of the worst one, then losing the remaining margin to an attachment that derates the base machine. The second is footprint: equipment gets ordered without confirming it accepts the pallet actually in use, and the 48 by 40 in footprint published by the Grocery Manufacturers Association as the GMA standard pallet is only one of several sizes in a typical mixed operation. Third is consumables planning, since balers need wire or strapping and wrappers need film, and neither shows up in the equipment quote. Fourth is freight and placement for the heaviest items, which can need a liftgate, a forklift on site or rigging.
