Storage racks and shelving decide how much of your floor space actually earns its keep. This collection brings together 61 Vestil products for warehouse, shop and yard storage: pallet rack accessories such as gravity flow shelves, back guards, column guards and sumps; cantilever, vertical bar and sheet racks for long or awkward stock; boltless and stainless steel shelving; drum, reel and pail storage; powered and manual carousels; and enclosed storage buildings. Because it is a single brand, sizing conventions and finishes stay consistent across the line. Filter by rack type and footprint, then check each product page for model-specific dimensions, rated capacity and price.

Start with the load, not the rack. Three questions settle most of the decision: what shape is the material, how is it handled, and how often is it touched. Palletized goods moved by forklift belong on pallet rack. Long stock — pipe, bar, lumber, extrusions — belongs on cantilever or bar racks, because shelf beams and uprights get in the way of loading. Cartons and small parts picked by hand belong on shelving, flow rack or a carousel, where the limiting factor is reach and pick rate rather than tonnage.
Then check the building. Clear height under sprinklers, column spacing, aisle width for your truck, floor slab condition and dock flow all constrain what you can install. Buyers most often get two things wrong: they size a rack to the load and forget the handling equipment needs room to place it, and they treat a published capacity as a fixed number rather than one tied to a specific beam level, shelf spacing and load distribution. Read the rating on the model you are buying, and post it where operators can see it.
Much of this collection supports pallet rack you already own rather than replacing it. Gravity flow shelves convert a bay into a first-in, first-out lane: cartons or pallets load at the back and roll forward to the pick face, which keeps stock rotating and shortens the walk for order pickers. The Vestil Pallet Rack Gravity Flow Shelves (GFL) line is a 96 in. × 96 in. shelf; the Carton Flow Racks (FLOW) family covers eight models, including wood top shelf options for a work surface at the pick face.
For liquids and drums, containment is the deciding factor. Pallet rack sumps, drum racks with fork pockets and pail carousels are built to keep containers stable and leaks captured. EPA's hazardous waste container standards at 40 CFR 264.175 require a containment system for container storage areas, so if you are storing regulated material on rack, confirm the containment approach with your environmental compliance lead before you buy. Security gates and back guards address a different exposure: keeping product from being pushed out the back of a bay into an aisle or a neighboring pick zone.
Cantilever rack is the default for long stock because the arms are open on the load side — nothing blocks a forklift or a two-person carry. This collection includes cantilever rack kits in both standard and galvanized versions, the galvanized option being the one to specify for outdoor or washdown-adjacent placement where painted steel will chalk and rust. ANSI MH16.3 is the standard covering the design, testing and utilization of industrial steel cantilevered storage racks, and it is worth naming in a quote request if a structural engineer is reviewing your layout.
Where floor space matters more than reach, vertical racks store bar and pipe on end. Vertical bar racks, expandable vertical bar racks and vertical storage racks all trade a taller footprint for a much smaller floor plan. Sheet goods get their own family: horizontal and standard sheet racks, variable height sheet racks, and the Slab Transport Rack (STR), rated 4,000 lb in a 97 in. × 64 in. footprint and available stationary or on casters. The caster version is the one to pick if slabs move between a saw, a fabrication bay and a loading area rather than sitting in one place.
Boltless shelving assembles without hardware and reconfigures quickly, which suits parts rooms and maintenance cribs where shelf spacing changes as inventory does. Stainless steel shelving and stainless solid rivet shelving are the choices for food, pharmaceutical and lab environments where the surface has to be cleanable and corrosion-resistant; specify stainless when the room gets hosed down, not just when it is wet.
Carousels change the economics of picking by bringing the bin to the operator instead of the operator to the bin. This collection carries manual, low-profile powered and stand-alone powered carousels — the Stand Alone Powered Carousels (STPC) line is rated 4,000 lb across its three models. Powered units justify themselves where pick density is high and labor is the largest line item; manual carousels make sense for lower-volume tool and fastener storage. Roll-out shelving is the specialist option for heavy dies and tooling that has to be reachable from above.
Rack damage is a forklift problem before it is a steel problem. Column guards, adjustable width rack guards, heavy duty rack guards and back guards absorb the impacts that would otherwise deform an upright, and they cost a fraction of a replacement frame plus downtime. Inspect uprights on a schedule and take damaged bays out of service rather than derating them by eye.
On the regulatory side: ANSI MH16.1 covers the design, testing and utilization of industrial steel storage racks, including load plaques that state permissible unit loads. OSHA 1910.176(b) requires that stored material be stacked, blocked, interlocked and limited in height so it is stable and secure against sliding or collapse. OSHA 1910.178 requires operator training and evaluation for powered industrial trucks, which matters because most rack incidents trace back to handling. NFPA 13 addresses sprinkler protection for storage occupancies, so involve your fire protection contractor before you change storage height or commodity class. Storage rack anchorage and seismic design are addressed by the International Building Code and ASCE 7 — confirm requirements with your local authority having jurisdiction.
All 61 items are Vestil, made in the USA by Vestil Manufacturing, and the product data on these lines lists a 1-Year Limited warranty. List prices in the collection start near $101, so it spans everything from a single accessory shelf to a complete powered carousel. A sample of verified models:
