Product Overview
In short
The Star Industries Model 150-66 Heavy Duty Skeleton Bucket is an open rib attachment for material separation and debris removal, letting materials up to 2½" fall through while retaining rocks and debris. Ideal for construction, land development, recycling, and landscaping. Features a 66" operating width, 14.2 cu ft heaped capacity, and weighs 555 lbs with teeth.

The Star Industries Model 150-66 Heavy Duty Skeleton Bucket has been designed to provide efficient material separation and sorting, in harsh environments, such as construction and land development. By providing an open rib skeleton style bucket, the smaller items such as soil, sand, and other small debris can fall through the openings, while the larger items such as rocks, demolition material, and scrap can be retained. As this provides a more productive operation, by allowing the operator to remove the larger material without needing to perform secondary screening operations. The Model 150-66 is constructed with heavy duty steel that will endure the demands of the operation and is suitable for use in construction, land development, recycling and industrial type applications. Due to its 66 inch operating width it provides an excellent combination of capacity and maneuverability, making it a dependable attachment for operators who require durable equipment to handle material accurately.

Features:

  • Open rib design for separating and sorting materials.
  • Heavy duty steel construction.
  • 66 inch operating width.
  • Designed for separating large rocks and debris.
  • Suits construction, recycling and industrial applications.

FAQ about this model

How much material does this bucket hold?

Heaped capacity is 14.2 cu ft on the 66 in model, 150-66. That is the volume with material mounded above the sides, so what you actually carry depends on how the load sits and how much fine material sifts out through the openings while you scoop. The bucket is also offered in 72 in and 84 in widths; capacity figures for those are not listed here.

What is the operating width, and will it fit my machine and my site?

Operating width is 66 in outside diameter, with a 65.6 in inside width. Measure gates, aisles and doorways against the 66 in outside figure, since that is the dimension that has to clear an opening. Available widths are 66 in, 72 in and 84 in, so you can size the bucket to the tracks or tires of the machine carrying it.

How much does the bucket weigh?

It weighs 555 lbs with teeth and 505 lbs with a plain blade. Count that weight against your machine's rated operating capacity along with the material you intend to carry, because attachment weight reduces how much load the machine can safely lift and hold out in front of it. The plain blade version is the lighter of the two.

How large are the openings between the tines?

The material gap measures up to 2½ in. Anything smaller than that falls through as you scoop and shake, which is the purpose of a skeleton bucket: it separates rock, brush, roots, stumps and demolition debris from dirt and fines. If your job is moving sand, gravel or screened topsoil, those openings will not retain the material.

Does it come with teeth or a plain blade?

Both configurations are offered, and they differ in weight: 555 lbs with teeth, 505 lbs with a plain blade. Teeth help break into packed ground and pull apart debris piles. A plain blade gives a continuous edge that suits scraping and cleanup passes over a finished surface. Choose based on whether you are digging in or skimming.

What is it made of, and what upkeep does it need?

Construction is heavy duty steel. Upkeep is what any steel attachment needs: inspect the tines and cutting edge for wear, check welds and mounting points after hard digging, and replace worn teeth before wear reaches the frame. Knock packed soil out from between the tines so the openings keep sifting instead of loading up like a solid bucket.
