Lift tables raise, lower, and hold a load at working height so operators aren't bending into a pallet or reaching over the side of a container. This collection carries 135 Ballymore lift tables priced from $403 to $19,302, covering low-profile scissor tables, ergonomic tilters, mobile work positioners, and compact mini-lifts. Capacities start at 330Lb bench-scale units and run up to the 3.3K stainless galvanized "U" table with a 60" x 56" platform. Filter by capacity, platform size, and control type, then check the specification table on each product page before ordering.

A lift table exists to eliminate the two motions that cause the most material handling injuries: bending to floor level and lifting above shoulder height. Instead of the operator moving to the load, the table moves the load to the operator. The most common applications are pallet building and de-stacking, machine feed and take-off, assembly build-up, container loading, and transferring parts between two fixed working heights. The payoff is measured in cycle time and reduced strain claims, not in horsepower, so specify around how the load is presented and removed rather than around peak capacity alone.
Ballymore builds several distinct families in this collection, and they solve different problems. Confusing a tilter with a scissor table, or a mobile positioner with a stationary lift, is the most expensive mistake on this page.
| Family | Capacities carried | Platform sizes | Controls |
|---|---|---|---|
| Maxx-Mini-Lift | 330Lb, 550Lb, 660Lb, 1.1K, 2K, 2.2K | 28x18 up to 47x32 | Foot or hand |
| Maxx-Ergo-Tilter (Standard and Adjustable) | 2K, 2.5K, 3K | 36x24, 36x32, 38x38, 48x42, 48x52 | Hand |
| Stainless Galvanized "U" Lift Table | 2.2K, 3.3K | 56" x 45", 60" x 56" | Hand or foot |
| Maxx-Mobile Adjustable Work Positioner | 330Lb, 440Lb | 16x20, 20x16, 23.5D | Manual hydraulic foot pump |
| Maxx-Mobile Skid Lifter | See product page | See product page | 12 Volt DC powered |
The "U" shaped low profile tables are the ones to look at if a pallet truck has to drive onto the table. The 3.3K and 2.2K models accept a manual or electric pallet truck up to 21" wide, so a loaded pallet can be walked straight on without a separate ramp or pit. Their stainless steel platform and base, cold galvanized scissor frame, stainless pins, Steel-it epoxy cylinders, and IP55 rated electrical connections are built for washdown and corrosive environments — food, pharma, chemical — where a painted carbon steel table would fail early.
The Ergo-Tilters do something a flat table cannot: they angle the load so the operator can reach the far corner of a deep container without leaning in. If your complaint is reach depth rather than height, a tilter is the right tool. The Mobile Work Positioners are the opposite end of the range — light duty, 360 degree platform rotation, four all-swivel casters with brakes, a telescoping shaft with a safety lever, and a manual hydraulic foot pump, so they go where there is no power drop.
Size capacity to the heaviest single load the table will ever see, including the pallet, the container, and any fixture that stays on the platform — not to the average load. Then check platform dimensions against the footprint of what you are lifting. A load that overhangs the platform edge concentrates force at one end of the scissor and creates an eccentric load condition the table is not rated for. The Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) standard pallet footprint is 48" x 40", which is why the 48x42 and 48x52 tilter platforms and the 56" x 45" and 60" x 56" "U" table platforms exist at those sizes.
Also decide up front whether the load lands centered. Rolling a drum on from one side, or pushing a tote across the platform, means the table sees a rolling and end load rating, not just a distributed one — confirm those figures on the product page or with us before you commit.
Control type is a real ergonomic decision, not a trim level. Foot controls keep both hands on the load, which matters when the operator is stacking cases continuously. Hand controls are better when the operator needs to stand clear and watch clearance while the platform moves. Several models here ship in both configurations at the same capacity and platform size.
The "U" tables use a Remote Power Unit (RPU), which puts the pump and motor away from the platform — useful in washdown areas and where the table sits in a pit or against a wall. The Maxx-Mobile Skid Lifter runs a 12 Volt DC electric motor from an on-board battery with an external automatic charger on 110 Volt input, with a chain-over-sprocket lift at a 2 to 1 ratio, polyurethane wheels, and standard foot brakes. Before you order, confirm the available power at the install point, floor flatness and slab condition, and whether the lowered height clears whatever the load arrives on.
ANSI MH29.1, the safety standard for industrial scissors lifts published by MHI, is the standard that governs this equipment type and covers guarding, maintenance devices, and markings. OSHA's lockout/tagout rule at 29 CFR 1910.147 requires that energy be isolated before servicing or maintaining equipment, which for a scissor table means using the maintenance prop or safety bar rather than relying on hydraulic pressure to hold the platform up. OSHA's machine guarding requirements at 29 CFR 1910.212 apply to the pinch points around a scissor mechanism, and toe guards or skirting are commonly specified where foot traffic passes close to the table.
Routine upkeep is straightforward: inspect hoses and fittings for weeping, check hydraulic fluid level, keep pins and bushings greased on the schedule in the manual, and confirm the platform still holds position without drift. On stainless washdown units, verify seals and the IP55 rated electrical connections after any change in cleaning chemistry.
Three mistakes account for most returns. First, buying on capacity and ignoring lowered height — if the table does not go low enough for the pallet truck or the existing conveyor, the capacity is irrelevant. Second, treating a tilter and a flat lift table as interchangeable when the real problem is reach depth. Third, specifying a painted table for a washdown line and replacing it in two years instead of buying stainless up front. If you tell us the load, the container, and the two heights it has to move between, we can point you at the right family.
