How much weight can this hoist lift?

It is rated at 1 1/2 Ton, which is 3,000 lbs or 1360 kg. Treat that as the maximum working load and keep your load below it — it is not a peak or test figure. If your loads sit close to the limit, the built-in slip clutch adds a margin by limiting the force the operator can apply beyond the rating.

How does the overload protection work?

An integrated slip clutch activates at approximately 125% of rated capacity. Past that point the mechanism slips instead of continuing to lift, so an operator cannot keep pulling on a load heavier than the hoist is rated for. The clutch is built into the LH105-OL, not an add-on accessory. It does not replace estimating or weighing the load before rigging.

What are the load chain and hooks made of?

The load chain is Grade 80 alloy steel and both hooks are forged alloy steel. Each hook has a safety latch to keep slings and rigging from slipping out of the hook throat. Grade 80 is the alloy chain grade normally specified for overhead lifting. Inspect the chain, hooks and latches for wear, cracks or deformation before each shift.

How does it hold the load when I stop pulling?

A double pawl, positive action brake sets and holds the load as soon as you stop moving the lever. Two pawls engage rather than one, so the brake stays applied under load. The handle rotates a full 360 degrees for tight spaces where a full stroke is not possible, and the free-chaining function lets you pull slack chain to the hook quickly before lifting.

What standards does it meet, and what warranty comes with it?

It meets or exceeds ASME B30.21, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers standard covering lever hoists, and it carries a 12 month warranty. Keep in mind the standard applies to the hoist itself. Inspection intervals, operator training and safe rigging practice at your site remain the responsibility of your own lifting program.

Who is this hoist suited to, and who should look elsewhere?

It suits manual pulling, lifting and load positioning up to 3,000 lbs, since the hoist is operated entirely by hand through the lever and needs no electrical or air supply. It is a poor fit for repetitive, high-cycle production lifting or for loads above its rated capacity — those applications call for a powered hoist sized to the duty.

Warranty

All Bison products are covered by a 12-month warranty from the date of shipment against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. Bison will repair or replace defective parts at no charge (installation excluded). A return merchandise authorization (RMA) is required before returning any product; items must be shipped freight-prepaid with a written description of the issue. Items returned outside the warranty scope are subject to a 25% restocking fee. Returns are not accepted after 30 days from the date of shipment. Customized items are non-returnable.

How long will it take for my order to ship? When will I receive it?
Most orders are processed within 1-2 business days, starting the business day following the date the order was placed. Once dispatched, standard shipping typically takes an additional 1-5 business days (starting the business day after shipment).
