FAQ about this model
What materials is the DVL500 designed to lift?
The DVL500 handles stone, glass and heavy slabs. It is a vacuum lifter, so it grips flat, non-porous, sealed surfaces — the kind of slab faces found in countertop fabrication, glazing and dimensional stone work. Porous, rough, curved or heavily textured surfaces will not seal reliably against vacuum pads and are outside what this lifter is built for.
What power supply does it need on site?
It runs on an integrated 12-volt DC power source, so no AC hookup is required. That means the lifter can work in yards, on job sites and in areas of a shop with no nearby outlet, without running extension cords. Plan for routine charging or battery maintenance the way you would for any other 12-volt DC powered equipment.
Can it rotate and tilt a slab once it is picked up?
Yes — the DVL500 rotates 360° left and right and tilts 90° to vertical. That combination lets you lift a slab flat off a table or A-frame, turn it to vertical for installation or racking, and orient it on either side without setting the load down. It covers the usual horizontal-to-vertical handling sequence in one pick.
Will it fit different slab sizes?
It uses variable-length extension arms, so the pad spread can be adjusted rather than fixed to one slab size. Wider settings spread the pads out for large slabs, and shorter settings suit smaller pieces. Match the arm setting to the panel so the pads land on solid, clean, flat areas of the face and not over edges or cutouts.
Why are there two rubber pad colors, and which should I choose?
The pads are offered in black and white. The choice is about which rubber compound you prefer against the surface you handle most — many fabricators pick white pads for light-colored or polished material and black for general stone work. If you handle a mix of light stone and glass, tell us your main material and we will confirm which pad option ships with your unit.
