FAQ about this model
How much clamping force does the AEWS305-PRO provide?
It delivers up to 220 lbs (100 kg) of clamping force per unit, with suction cups of approximately 8 inches (203 mm) in diameter. Seam setters are used along a joint rather than singly, so the number of units you need depends on the length of the seam and the size of the slabs being aligned. Plan your quantity around the run you are setting.
What materials can it be used on?
It is rated for non-porous materials: granite, marble, quartz, glass, and ceramic. The vacuum cups need a smooth, sealed surface to form and hold a seal. Porous, open-textured, or heavily profiled finishes will not seal reliably and are outside what this tool is designed for. If your material is not non-porous and smooth, this is not the right setter.
How much can it adjust the seam gap and slab height?
The gap adjustment range is 0 to 1 inch (0 to 25 mm) and the leveling adjustment range is 0 to 0.5 inch (0 to 12.7 mm). Gap width is set with fine-adjustment screws for precise joint control, and integrated level indicators let you confirm horizontal and vertical alignment while you close the seam.
Does it need electricity or compressed air?
No. The operation type is a manual vacuum pump with a lever-actuated release, so there is no power cord, battery, or air line to manage. That makes it usable on job sites without a power source nearby. Vacuum is pumped by hand at each cup, and the lever releases suction when you are ready to reposition or remove the unit.
How heavy is it and how much space does it take up?
Net weight is approximately 12 lbs (5.4 kg) and overall dimensions are approximately 18" x 10" x 6" (457 mm x 254 mm x 152 mm). One person can carry and position a unit by hand using the handles. The footprint is small enough to store several units in a standard job box or van shelf between installs.
What is it made of, and what maintenance does it need?
Construction is anodized aluminum alloy with high-density rubber pads and stainless steel fasteners, chosen to resist moisture and common workshop chemicals. Maintenance is mainly keeping the rubber cup faces clean and free of grit or adhesive residue so they seal properly, and inspecting the pads for cuts or hardening. Damaged or contaminated pads are the usual cause of lost suction.
