What is the difference between the ACC40 and the ACC60?

The load capacity. The ACC40 handles up to 88 lbs (40 kg) per clamp and the ACC60 up to 132 lbs (60 kg) per clamp. The ACC60 is also slightly heavier, about 2.6 lbs (1.2 kg) against about 2.2 lbs (1 kg). Both use the same high-grade aluminum clamp plates, steel handles with rubber padding, and the same jaw opening range.

What material thickness will the jaws grip?

0.2" - 1.6" (5mm - 40mm). That is the jaw opening range, so the clamps grip material whose thickness falls inside it; anything thinner or thicker will not seat correctly. Measure the actual panel, including any film or backing left on the face, and check it against the load capacity of the model you are considering.

Is this a one-person or two-person tool?

Two-person. The clamps are dual-handed and specified for two operators, so a single person working alone is not the intended use. Plan every move as a two-person carry, with one operator on each side. Confirm both people have clear footing and a clear path before the load leaves the ground.

How do the clamps hold the load — do they need tightening first?

They are self-locking: the grip tightens as weight is applied, so there is no screw or lever to set before lifting. The mechanism is mechanical, with no power, air line or battery involved. Seat the jaws on material within the rated opening range, then lift steadily so the clamping force builds as the load transfers.

Will the clamps mark a finished surface?

They are built not to. The grip pads are durable non-marring rubber, so the clamping faces are intended for finished material. Pads are available in black or white, which lets you choose the color less likely to show against your product. Keep the pad faces clean — grit trapped on rubber is the usual cause of surface marking.

How heavy are the clamps and how are they stored?

About 2.2 lbs (1 kg) each for the ACC40 and about 2.6 lbs (1.2 kg) each for the ACC60. The compact design means they stow on a shelf or in a job box rather than needing dedicated racking. The clamp plates are lightweight high-grade aluminum, which is corrosion resistant, and the handles are steel with rubber padding.
